Do we need those AI blokes (I guess no)

  • NO, remove those idiots finally. PD never got them right anyway, and won't in the future. Just give

  • Actually no, but we need a yes option to have a democratic poll, so click here for yes

Just add more strict limitations for offline
The FGT World championship is a good example of what it should be like; It takes skill just to get a podium finish:scared:

I wouldn't care if AI was done with and the game primarily focused on online.

Yet no one has a problem running soft racing tires online with the room labeled "Street cars only". The biggest factor in GT5 between street car vs Racing cars is the tires. It's not very often I see "street cars" racing online with tire restrictions. Everyone wants to run with super-glue tires and obvious feels like you do if you pick anything less than it limiting yourself.
Use lower tires doesn't keep you from actually driving the car around the track (like pausing on the track for 10 seconds or closing your eyes, etc ) you just can't go in and come out of the corners as fast. AI has to have some kind of advantage over the player since AI can't learn and adapt like the player can.

Tell him my friend, i hate typing too much words :lol:

What kind of a question is this?

No AI would be GT5 with no A-Spec, no B-Spec, no Seasonal Events, and remove about 80% of all Special Events.

I'll take bumbling, silly AI any day over none at all. I like & enjoy the online aspect but sometimes I just don't want to deal with people and having a game that lets me at least enjoy a race offline is something I hope never goes away... please never make GT online only... :nervous:

I like the AI - it sort of comes across to me as the mobile, digital-era reincarnation of Sgt. Schultz from the old TV series Hogan's Heroes. Really laid-back and bumbling and not really all there most of the time, but it has its redeeming moments!💡:sly:

But as others have said, self-discipline in making races challenging, for good or ill, is the easiest 'fix' for this 'problem'. But the AI isn't totally inept - I've seen it dodge wrecks, acknowledge and respond appropriately to my spot on the track, occasionally go a little deep in the corners, etc.

Of course, that's when it's not pitting me or braking coming OUT of the corner or some other form of nefarious conduct!:ouch: But I wouldn't want it taken away - I think, at the end of the day, it helps makes the game fun!

Now, that the AI has been 'fixed' and the opponents you get in each race are more 'comprehensible' with 1.06 then before, I have come to the conclusion that the AI is absolutely nonsense. (oh ho, welcome to the club, I guess)
For example, I'm driving the 908. I choose an arcade race, and finally I can race against other 908 cars driven by the AI. But, to my surprise, I'm about half a minute faster then they are after one lap. And no, it's not my racing abbility. To be honest I'm pritty bad at racing, so I guess you guys could even outperform them even easier.
Actually I am even cheating in favor of the AI. To get the 908 as opponent when driving a 908, you have to use a full tuned 908. Later on I remove the Turbo Stage 3, before starting the race to get back to the stock 908 specs.
Same with Super GT. I really have to put some tons of extra weight and reduce hp to have a 'balanced fight' at the Super GT event.

poll: do we need AI or skip those blokes for pure online racing, similar to iracing, for example specific events like Super GT only

yes/no

How bout we have a poll on whether you read the update notice ?
The notice said the A.I has been improved for A-Spec and B-Spec respectively, they never mentioned "arcade" . So put your kleenex down and get back to GT5.
The update was F:censored: wonderful.

OP... Do you realize how rude your "only online events" point of view is?
Just because you like to play online, doesn´t mean that other people are going to agree with you. What your basically doing is patronizing GT5 for your own personal use, and I find it quite inmature on your part. Reason is that there is alot of people who enjoy the game without the online feature, plus, even if you don´t know it(which I know you know), there is people who don´t have internet access for their PS3. So what you´re saying is "screw people with no internet, Gran Turismo is only for us that play oinline." I´ve been a Gran Turismo fan since the first game, I have had them all, and I think I deserve to play Gran Turismo the way I preffer. One more thing... The AI is by far the best in all GT´s, and I haven´t had any problems with it since GT5 Prologue.

Appologize for my harsh comment, but your opinion, even if its yours, hit me really hard...

Why don't you just try and complete the seasonal event with a stock (or moderately tuned if needed) car. No one is forcing you to tune. The game is as challenging as you make it.

People are not very good in not doing something you can! They know very well that they can restrict themself but... OPPPS stage 3 motor

The AI in GT is terrible. I don't know how they can get them that wrong all the time. Forza (the full series) has been great with AI. I should pick up that game again...
