Do you answer the phone when it rings, or are you quiet like me and don't like to talk to people on the phone and let someone else answer it? I don't like talking on the phone. I only answer the phone when my parent's tell me to.
 
Well, I'm grown and have lived by myself for 10 years.. But occasionally I don't answer the phone when I feel like being alone.

Bullseye, Especially if Im still in bed and the friggen thing wakes me up, I dont answer it on principal, people should learn some respect

I agree that people shouldn't call during the wee hours of the night. That never happens at my house, but it wouldn't be pleasant to be awakened by the phone, I'm sure!

never known it to be a pleasant experience, people that ring in the middle of the night need a damn good reason, or they cop a mouth full of abuse and get hung up on :irked:
 
If i'm feeling lazy I claim I haven't heard the phone and so I don't pick it up although that happens less often. More people are phoning for me!:D
 
Never, unless my mom tells me to. I also hate talking to people on the phone.
 
I never answer the phone. I just let it ring.
Unless it's family (well, I pick up the phone for specific family members, not all)
And I only make a phonecall when it's really important.

Oh yeah, when I'm drunk I call everybody!
 
Everyone in my family ALWAYS lets it ring through to our answering machine.

If it is important they will leave a message saying to get back to them. If it was just someone wanting to waste our time with petty banter than nothing is lost.
 
I always pick up my cell phone, but since nobody calls for me on the home phone, I never pick it up.
 
only pick up if the ID shows that it's someone we know - else it rings till they get the point that nobody's going to pick up. My cell though, I'll answer whenever I have it and it rings.
 
i always pick up the phone. its usualy for me... im in phone 30% of the day lol.but that might be because i live in the middle of nowhere, and my friends dont live here...... im too lazy to walk...

Yeah - buy a phone then answer it - if you dont want to answer a phone then dont have one !!! ( but if you live with parents then fair enough)

At my g/f house there are 4 of them living there - a phone in each room - even in the hallway and when it rings none of them want to pick it up - It so bl**dy annoying !!!!
 
Caller ID keeps me from talking to people that I don't wish to talk to, at home.
At my various jobs, I answer the phone if I happen to be near it. But as they took my secretary, and my patient care tech/partner. I usually work my unit alone. I consider myself to be showing the administration how stupid they are by making myself as difficult as possible to get a hold of. It also pisses off the docs, so hopefully, they'll complain, and I can get my secretary back.

Plus, I hate the damn phone anyway. It never rings at an opportune time. It slows down my "flow" as I go thru the day. It de-rails my train of thought while I'm trying to chart.

If I get to heaven and A. G. Bell is there, I intend to ask St. Peter if I can slap the living daylights out of him!.
 
i sprint for the phone and just as i get to it, slip on the rug sitting there and fall flat on my ass, where the answering machine then comes on.:lol:

seriously though, i pick up my cell phone all the time and i get the home phone pretty much all the time as well unless the parents are sitting RIGHT NEXT to the phone.(simply because im always somewhere and theyll yelll through the house "GO GET THE PPPHHHOOOONNNNNEEEEEE!!!!!!!":banghead:

oh yeah, if the caller id shows up as unknown, then i pick it up anyways and if it just so happens to be a telemarketer or something then i go ahead and prank them.:lol:
