I predominantly right foot brake. For me it's a lot more comfortable and natural, and despite any benefit that left foot braking might give me, I'll always right foot brake.

That's not to say that I don't left foot brake of course, I right foot brake for 95% of my driving, but there are some corners that I'll bring the left foot in for, usually ones that only require a dab of brake to get the front turned etc. The best example I can think of is the Esses at Suzuka, where I bring in the left foot to keep the front tucked and have instant throttle. However I'll always right foot brake for everything else as it gives me the best feel especially in heavy braking zones. 👍

I'm pretty sure there's already a thread for this, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, yes, I brake with my left foot.

Yeah, there was this one.

Left foot for me. I have a centre support bar on my rig, so RF braking would be near on impossible anyway...

I right foot brake it makes use of the clutch alot easier IMO.

That how it's done IRL.

Well with G27 it depends. If its a car with stick its Heel and Toe so right foot, But with paddle shift its left.

people who left foot brake, double clutch, heel toe downshift, ect driving around town, are tossers

I double clutch and left foot brake in real life. I also float gears when shifting because let's face it, no one wants to press a clutch a pedal 20+ times to get from 0 mph to 60 when going through a 13 gear transmission. I also left foot brake while floating the gears and using a jake brake so I'm in control of a 75,000 lb vehicle. I'll take my 'tosser' status, along with over 900,000 road miles proudly.

Yeah I brake with my left foot. I learned that way and now I can't do it with my right. I feel like I more control with both feet working together. Easier to perform good throttle control with the right about of brake engaged as well.

That how it's done IRL.

Not really. Depends on the situation.

In my race car, I right foot brake any time the corner calls for a downshift. Corners that don't require shifting though, are approached with a left foot on the brake. Makes it a lot quicker to get back to power and keep the RPMs up. Ive got a buddy who races 458 Ferraris in Europe (FIA GT3 I believe) and he left foot brakes everywhere now that they have paddle shifters.

Always left foot on my DFGT for two reasons:
- I think it is faster than lifting your right foot from the accelerator pedal and press the brake.
-I do not think I could have ever driven using my right foot for breaking since the pole of the Wheel Stand Pro doesn't leave a lot of room for any kind of "footwork".

Left foot, with DFP and temporary coffee table 'rig'. It has always seemed natural to do it, and both feet on the pedal housing keeps it more stable. I also use the sponge ball trick for resistance as I don't use ABS.

I was braking with my right foot for about a year. I recently switched to left foot braking a few weeks ago. I do not see a drastic difference in my lap times, but I noticed that I can drive a lot smoother that way.

But studying the datalogs, I can see that ever since I started the left foot braking, I brake sooner and my brake zones seem to be larger. However, I get on the throttle noticeably sooner. I think with more practice I can reduce the time in the brake zone, brake later and eventually I will see an improvement in my lap times.

In GT, yes.
MUCH quicker than having to lift and move your foot.

In a PC sim with a clutch you can only left foot brake on a corner that doesn't require a shift.

When I got my DFGT wheel, which was almost 2 months ago, I used my left foot for braking for a while but I just felt like I couldn't control the car when I drive with some corners and most of the time, I end up skidding in the road. After that, I used my right foot for braking and I got used to it without having any problems at all.

For most of the time when I'm using the paddles and the H-Shifter I'll brake with my right foot. I would only ever left foot brake going up Eau Rouge at Spa (or anywhere else where I only need to slow the car a little) as it just seems quicker than coming off the throttle and onto the brakes and it's more fun letting the car roll in.

Real life: Right foot.

GT: It depends. Racing setups with paddle shifters it's left foot. Everything else it's heel/toe right foot. Can't imagine left foot braking with a car that has a clutch.

I drive a standard shift every day, and there's no way I can see how you'd downshift and brake at the same time with just your left foot. Maybe I don't know what I'm doing, but it doesn't seem possible.

It's really weird, I brake with my right foot in real life like most people but I instantly started braking with my left foot when I got my wheel setup. It just made sense.

Yes and no.
When drag racing and cruiseing traditional right foot.

When in a serious race left foot.

I use a DFGT I find the their size and location to be uncomfortable for serious constant left/right movement.

Also to close for prescion control. I have to drive with my big toes(socks) for prescion. I tried to drive with shoes and would always hit the other pedal.
And not to mention size 12 men/us. My feet are to big for them lol.

Yes, in some sections I do when I don't need to shift. It doesn't make much sense not to when your left foot is doing nothing.
