Do you care for the Asian and French cars in GT?

The bland (Asian) and forced (French) design and lack of great motorsport heritage leaves me mostly indifferent. Of course the Japanese makers of GT have a duty to include Asian cars, but I keep wondering if even Asians get excited over, say, Lexus or Hyundai.

Ironically, tho, the 787B with its iconic Renown livery might possibly be the best looking car in the history of motorsport.

(Oh and current Bugattis are of course not "French" cars.)

I care for all cars in GT... (except maybe openwheel formula cars)...

But seriously... lack of great motorsport heritage for the French and the Japanese? Check yo'self boi...!

Umm. the French actually run the FIA and they have numerous tracks... they are dominated by Renault and Peugeot who strangely run F1 and previously LMP teams.

I think as long as PD presents us with interesting cars then that's all that matters.

Cars. Not tracks or people. Come on...

Yeah, French cars are hot because Le Mans is in France and Jean Todt and the term "Grand Prix" are french!

I mainly drive French cars if I run GTSport. I find however there aren't enough of them seen the huge heritage some have!

If you've got an opinion on the design of the cars, that's one thing, but for some bizarre reason you've decided to tie it to national motorsport heritage - which is a much less subjective topic than car aesthetic.

I don't have any particular care, bias, hatred or love for a particular nationality of cars?

Given the huge role France had in the history of motorsport, their cars are lacking in "motorsport heritage" compared to British, German, Italian cars. Seriously so, I would say.
Would you?

The old and new Alpines are awesome cars. The '72 is an ugly turtle, tho (but lovingly so). The 2000 GT is the 2nd most awesome Asian car and "You Only Live Twice" the most underrated Bond. But there is a good reason the 2000 GT is nowhere near as generally famous as, say, the same era E-Type or Stingray.

In a fact, the French constructors at this moment don't have anything particular worth mentioning in racing.

Le Mans is dominated by Toyota at the moment. F1 is dominated by Mercedes, WRC is dominated by Toyota or Hyundai, WTCC is dominated by Hyundai.

though, I could see the following French added in the future of GT Sport:

Pescarolo C60 Hybride - Judd '05
Pescarolo Sport Courage C60 - Peugeot '03
Pescarolo-Courage - Judd GV5 '04
Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Rally Car '85
Peugeot 905B Evo 1 Bis LM '92
Renault R5 Turbo '80
Renault Sport R5 Turbo Rallye '85
Renault Sport Clio V6 Trophy 24V '00

The French practically invented Motorsport what we see today.

That's a very specific question but yeah I like my Japanese cars like the NSX Type R, the LFA and the LC500. There are also some incredible french cars like both A110s and the Megane Trophy. One thing I learned with Gran Turismo is that good cars exist all over the world and they can come from very strange places sometimes.

Funny. Two of my favourite designs right now are French and Asian. Alpine A110 and Hyundai i20.

Isn’t WRC motorsports?

I wouldn't say that as a blanket statement, no. You can pick disciplines and time frames to support arguments one way or the other.

I'm curious as to your country of residence, as I suspect it can often be the case that perception is skewed by what you're exposed to.

lack of great motorsport heritage

This is one of the most mind boggling statements I've seen in a while.

See, you WOULD have to check...

If you need to check the motorsport history of these counties you don't know motorsports.

Since you created your account on Tuesday I'm going to assume you're trolling and not get sucked in any deeper.

The French are dominating LMP2 at the moment, via Oreca, and to an extent Ligier.

Could also just be some young naive kid
Fair enough, but when I was a young naive kid, GT introduced me to cars and motorsports from around the world. I learned their histories and started watching motorsports on tv. I would not have much appreciation for anything beyond American muscle and European exotics without GT.

I'm sure Jean Todt led Peugeot to dominate WRC before he went to Ferrari, Renault have propelled numerous drivers and teams to victories/championships in F1.
Iconic cars like GTP's car of the week Subaru 22B, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, NSX, all Asian.
But we are free to like/dislike whoever we wish.

I have never seem OP be so factually wrong in his own thread and get called out like this guy is.

But to throw him a bone, I'm going to say that this game could do with some French cars, like the Bugatti Chiron, Peugeot 205 Turbo, Renault Sport Clio V6, Renault Sport R5 Turbo, Citroën SM and Citroën DS 1950...Maybe a Pescarolo Sport would be cool too.

The NSX Type R and Fugu Z are not bland. I've owned a Megane Tropht+ and I'm not biased In my view. I disliked the design on debut. Only when me and my wife went for a test drive, my eyes became more accepting due to seat of the pants experience.
