Cause i'm seriously thinking about it.

Sooooo many guys(and we're talking expert online races), seem to get a kick out of bumping you, just as your passing them.......WHY???!:grumpy:

Sorry for the useless thread, but it's REALLY getting to me now.

I think I only quit twice in my entire ONLINE play. And I had to quit because had some stuff to do ;)
Other then that, first, middle or even LAST in sand, I do not quit.

Retaliate on purpose: no. But it sometimes happens that a punter just happens to be in the right place at the right time, in which case I might not be able to resist the temptation. ;)

This is just it.

I don't want to tarnish the GTP_ name, but some guys are so SO blatantly trying to ruin your game, even when you've played it well, it's not to return their "favour".

I don't punt if that's what you're getting at, it's pointless because the chances are you'll get penaltied or end up off the track so I don't really see the point. However, if someone repeatedly does it to me or zig zags about in front of me blocking a legitimate overtake or any of a whole plethora of other dirty tricks the short-on-skill mob have at their disposal, I will rescind the courtesy I would normally pay an opponent, like holding back on a tight overtake or, if they're in the habit of punting me off at corners, I might just give them a little brake check, to keep them off my tail going down a straight. More importantly if they decide to leave the track as a result of any rubbing I will not slow down and allow them to gain their position back which I will always do for a clean opponent.

Best tactic I've come up with, by far to beat the punters is to drift into corners - this usually makes you ghost so the flying terror passes right through you and into the nearest wall or gravel trap. I like doing this because it's clean and mean at the same time :sly:

i felt like i last night, some [GB] person knocked me intentionally into a wall, i was on the outside and they used me as a wall, they entered the corner way too fast.. so i got 5 secs, they were so bad i caught up in a matter of corners and overtook, i just slowed right down for a corner, they missed hitting me and ended up spinning offthe track, then i just carried on, but i know what you mean about tarnishing the GTP_ name, sometimes its just sooo annoying.

I think a lot of it is to do with your tag, GTP tags are a target for rammers because the rammer has the misconseption that GTP tagged players are elitist, which I don't think is the case. Same as people with GT in their tag tends to attract the rammers more. Maybe i'm wrong, but thats my thoughts on it.

EDIT: Only time I will retaliate, is if the same guy keeps trying to take me out.

I've stopped racing online with my GTP tag for the moment, as GT_Fanatic said, it gets tiresome being a target for a fair few people. Not just your thoughts GT_Fanatic, it's my experience unfortunately. Also, some people appear to think that you're not just a target, but an easy one at that as you won't retaliate.

you're damn right i retaliate, whether you think its right or wrong. in my book if someone doesnt care enough to respect your position on the track and thinks they can knock you off and get away with it, DESERVES a revenge punt. you can say 2 wrongs dont make a right, but it feels satisfying to me knowing i got even.

I decide whethere it was intentional e.g punt on straight, fly into me into a corner etc.

If its like enter corner same time its not really that drastic.

I chase back for revenge so what its fair. Note my punts arnt the best e.g tried to punt a dude for getting me I was to early and spun

Lesson is if you play with fire you will get burnt. 👍

My first choice is not to retaliate. I turn on my awareness and drive more cautious around the punter. Maybe drive with anticipation of what they will do. The best way to relaliate is to beat them in the race or don't allow them to affect your game.

If I time a good pass I do my best to out distance them so they can't cause any more problems.

Although, when push comes to shove, and it's clear that it's intentional, all bets are off.

Locking. We have one of these threads already.
