i wondered that too, vat. :) but then i thought all most pet do is ask to be fed, played with or taken outside for a dump...

meanwhile, i'm the proud "owner" (i hate that word when it comes to something that's alive) of a black Labrador 2 year old female... no name, sometimes it's "hey, come here". or "here doggie!"

Well, the cats use an inside litter tray (we're in an inner-city terrace, so no garden).

You should call your lab 'the Pet with no name'.

A useless bird. I eat drumsticks in front of it.

:rotfl:

vat_man: Well, the only way to be sure is to re-evaluate your life. Does she feed you? Does she take you on walks? Does she put you outside so you can do your 'business?'

That's horrid - and quite funny (it can be two things!).

And M5Power, I have been trained to use the inside toilet. Indeed, I am able to wash dishes, wash clothes, use the vacuum cleaner, and a host of other domestic duties - although admittedly not cooking. I just don't get cooking.

my pet rat is black and white, she is kinda a mission impossible rat, as she is always climbing upside down and leaping around in her cage!!:mouse:
:D

no pets for me...there stinky and dirty... i cant have dog hair, cat hair, bird **** or anything on my carpets. I cant even stand being in a house that has pets. Animlas are ment to be in a BARN not in a house. Its just really gross to me.

This opinion is a recurring ignorant spew from people that can be found all over the place thining they have some kind of unique insight. I really feel sorry for them. They are missing one of the joys of life.

Thousands of years ago some of the smarter animals got together and realized that they'd be better off living with eachother. Dogs and cats and people (and some birds) came to realize that they could be freinds even though they couldn't talk to eachother. They found eachother interesting and entertaining and fulfilling to be around. So they adopted eachother. It's really a beautiful thing. Nothing could be more natural, that people keep and protect their animals. And of course, long after the fact, "science" tells us it's good for us to be around them. Duh!

I find it to be a genuine compliment when an animal likes me. They are better judges of character than we are. And much more trustworthy!

So animals belong in someone else's house. Not a barn. Cows and horses, yeah. But dogs and cats? They are companions to most people more than anything else. The fact that people can connect with animals shows an openness that, unfortuantely, not all humans seem to have. And the ones that don't have simply chosen to constrict their experience. The ones that do have to vacuum more often.

Three, two dogs (Milo, Tiger) and a cat (Patch). Patch was my avatar for a while.

I got some more fish so now I have 5. Names: Disco Stu, The Fish Formally Known As, Eisfische, Mini Jaws, and Smokey the Fish.

I know weird names but hey.

two dogs. One gets annoyed at the other and there is a lot of fighting... (not bad fighting)
