When I Purchased GT6 the first thing I did was delete GT5 game data from the hard drive because I thought GT6 was going to walk all over GT5 in everything boy I was wrong.

Why delete the GT5 data?

Because I had a brain fade and I should have left the GT5 data in. If I found GT6 was a lot better than GT5 why leave it on my hard drive. But boy I made a wrong move to delete GT5 from my hard drive.

I did the exact same thing. For me, it was due to not wanting the buggy/crap of updates on my system anymore.

It seems that many have forgotten what a mess the updates were for GT5. Sure 3 years later the game became more solid but it doesn't change the fact that we all (launch players) suffered a whole lot where it came to the point we had to do everything to keep hope alive (like we're doing now, or trying to) and force ourselves to believe that GT5, at it's end state, was a rock solid experience.

I haven't played GT5 since 6 came out but what I do remember is that people suffered black screens, freezing, reboots etc. right up until I abandoned GT5.

So with that said, I've stuck with GT6 and haven't looked back.

I think GT6 much better than GT5. There are only three issues with GT6-

1. All the mid-engined cars handle badly when in real life some of them handle quite well.

2. Issues, such as how the driver's hands go through the Bentley Speed 8's steering wheel, or how the game thinks the Elise 11R's speedometer is in km/h when it actually says, mph.

3. Omission of the Jensen Interceptor and the Ginetta G4.

GT6 driving feel is better (by a long way) than GT5's. But GT5 has better features. You can tell the PS3 is having problems parsing enough memory to run the game at 60fps and support the enhanced car and track models.

I don't think the PS3 can support everything GT6 is supposed to be. Add in the handling problems with MR cars and that fact that standard cars even exist in GT6 makes GT5 the winner. That said, I have not wanted to go back to GT5 since GT6 was released. I just hope they can port the game and the missing features to the PS4 platform soon.

That and create Ferrari, McLaren and Lamborghini GT3 cars. And more control over what cars and parts can or can not be used in on-line rooms.

I could never go back to GT5's stale physics after GT6. Even when I don't really feel like driving at first, if I go into GT6 and take out any well balanced RWD, I end up with a big grin on my face.

both of them did a spectacular job truncating and outright ignoring career/simulation mode
i'll just stick to my gt1-4 and pretend nothing afterwards ever happened ty

Yeah, I really need to dust off & hook up my PS2, so I can play GT4 (my absolute favorite GT).
