I don't.

I'm curious if I'm the only one. Maybe I'm too sensitive ? But for me it's ...strange.

I mean why exactly those? Cornering speed? Engine sound? (:sly:) Well obviously none of that.

So there's one thing that remains - heritage/history. But heritage of these vehicles brings back rather dark moments in human history.

Why not some US or British military vehicles that not only did took a part of WW|| history but were also made famous by movies - like this one:

They are just cars. And on that matter, i would rather drive genuine Kubelwagen than any other WW2 car. I am not a nazi, I just honestly think that german car engineering is and always has been amazing.
I live in Finland and we have kind of a cold winters sometimes ( can be down to -40C or more). Only cars that truly cope that kind of temperatures are German, Swedish or Russian.
I have driven a Mercedez that had over 1,6 million km behind it and still going strong. Does anyone know any Fiat or Chrysler that can do the same? Oh, I think Hitler had a Mercedez? Does that make the car bad? NO!

PS: Sorry the level of grammar.

They would be acceptable with some North African type terrain to drive across.

Indeed, while we don't expect Gran Turismo Motorstorm it would be good for GT to include something for 4x4 vehicles and the like to drive over, Rally Cross/Rock Crawling ect.

1.6 million km? That's A LOT.

On topic: No. I never bought them in GT5 and I probably won't buy them in GT6.

I don't see why I shouldn't. The Kubelwagen and Schwimmwagen are marvels of the technology of the day; besides, they're the first mass-produced Volkswagen ever. And one should not forget that it was, in its time, probably the most reliable car ever built.

As for why those cars were included, you have to consider the fact that while European countries were either invaded by the Nazis or fought them and that countless American soldiers died to liberate Europe, Japan never had to face the nightmare that the Nazi war machine represents in our culture. In Japanese (and generally, South-Eastern Asian) culture, Nazist symbology and equipment isn't as deeply linked with evil and horrible slaughter and the genocide of 7 million people as it is for us Westeners.

NO, IMO they're a rather pointless inclusion in a game revolving around circuit racing.
On the other hand, if we had Mount Chiliad in GT6...

Contrarily to common belief, Gran Turismo focuses more on collecting and owning cars than racing them, as clearly evidenced by the scores of useless (but cool) additions to the car roster. Besides, have you ever raced in a field of Kubels? It is slightly unsettling, as it'll look like an army of Speed Racists's invading the raceway, but it's also fun. Slapstick-comedy-fun.

Also, the Kubelwagen isn't exactly an off-road monster. Take it to a steep incline or to what today passes for an off-road trail IRL and you'll need someone to drag you out of there. Let's not forget that the Kubelwagen is basically an uglier Typ-1 Beetle; it's RWD and its engine doesn't break the 40hp barrier.

No I don't, because they are incredibly boring.

I do think it's fairly ridiculous to view their inclusion in the game as some sort of dubious action though, and I certainly DON'T want any more of these useless things included in the future, especially just for some ludicrous notion that we should have some from the allies side just for balance.

I took my kubel thru nurb for sh#%s and giggles. Besides if I want to drive fast...I can do that in real life. Hummmm...just thinking man I would like the chance to drive a kubel or swimm. :) On the autobahn would be awesome.( Unfortunatley bicycles would pass me up)

Same here! I like to learn about the history of the different cars. I have put many miles into the 88 Accord Coupe:). It is cool to compare how it evolved into my 91 Accord Coupe and to the Modern Generations. ...My accord sounds better than the in game one....

I agree it's rather silly on my part to imply those crazy things as reasons for inclusion. :O But the rest remains - wasted resources - especially having TWO of them in premium vest when cars like Supra are standard.

I gotta agree on the issue about them being premiums.
