slip2- I used to have rats... Snowball, Star, Oreo, and Little One... I'm currently pet-less though.

Oh, how I loved my watties! Unfortunately, none of them lived long, due to various diseases or old age...
(BTW, all females)
Snowball- Obviously, an albino. Okay, before I describe her, there's an interesting story behind how I got her. My 3rd grade teacher was a rodent fanatic, and couldn't stand snakes, since obviously they're a rodent's primary prey. So, one day, she was talking to one of her friends on campus, a 7th grade science teacher, who happened to have a snake, and was trying to feed it this albino rat, but it was too big for the snake. So, my 3rd grade teacher took it, and made it the class pet. At the end of the year, I won a contest to keep her. The ironic part is next... When I went into 7th grade, I was looking at my science teacher's snake, and then it struck me...
she must have been my 3rd grade teacher's friend! And, I confirmed that with her, and it happened to be the exact same snake that she was trying to feed 4 years ago. Anyway, on with Snowball- she was probably one of the best rats that ever lived. Her trust in humans is of that that I've never seen before... She would let me handle her in any way, never bit me, just nibbles, and what was truly amazing was that I was able to let her out, and run around the whole house (and even outside) without a worry. Unfortunately, she died at around age 3, which is normal for ratties.
Star- So called because of a white speck on her forehead, in contrast to her grayish body. Excellent rat, seemed like a vegetarian, but died 3 months later due to an awful tumor (common in rats).
Oreo- A pretty normal rat, though she was very mistrusting of humans... I rarely touched her, though she was still a joy. Died of pneumonia, but after being with us for longer than a year. Name derived from her black and white fur scheme.
Little One- So called because I couldn't think of a "real" name, and she was tiny... If I didn't know better, I wouldn't sworn she was a mouse! Excellent rat, on par with Snowball, but died of an ear infection within several months.
