Widescreen because I have a big ass widescreen TV, and it looks like crap when it's not on widescreen...:p

You shouldn't use widescreen unless you have a widscreen tv...If you do, the cars will look distorted (tall) and you will not get the full joy of playing the game....I don't want my GtOne to lok like a beetle..

So only use the WS if you have a WS tv...

I myself use both..... WS mode on my WS tv, and normal mode on my monitor....

Widescreen also.

Just got a huge kick ass Sony Widscreen.
Makes the game look sweat.:)

The weard thing is that I took my PS2 round to my brothers, who has got a Sony Waga widescreen TV, and I thought the picture was worse, I used the AV out lead pluged into his (Sony) digital AV amp, I used the same ports he normaly uses for the DVD player(which is fine), so it can't be the amp. The picture was all sort of pixely and didn't seam a sharp, compaired to my smaller TV I usually have it on.
The sound on his Sourund sound system (using the optical cable) was amazing though.

I have a huge widescreen tv too. As the widescreen mode is anamorphic, the PS2 is creating an image with the same number of pixels as normal view, but you stretch that picture so all the horizontal pixels are stretched, so it will look a little blurrier

I have Sony Designer Wega WS, and it took me a while, but it's working WS now. It's tops!

The standard cable Sony give you with the PS2 is mince, but I've got it running through a DVD player, and an expensive (and long) cable to the TV, so it's good enough. The DVD player kicks butt playing DVDs though.

Sound is through optical cable to Sony Dolby Digital amp, which is v.good, but not multi-speaker, which is disappointing. It would be cool to have some front-back sound panning as I lap those cars yet again :D
