After recently playing through Prologue for the second time I realised that there is something very important missing - Qualifying. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy coming from halfway through the field(or even from the back) to snatch a win, but if Gran Turismo is to have a real racing experience I believe it needs qualifying. Starting from the back/mid-pack seems more like an arcade challenge that you have to pass, not a race day, where you have practiced, fine tuned the car, qualifyed 3rd, then overtaken 1&2 for the win.
Where qualifying is most important however is Online. It allows the faster guys there rightful position, instead of having to overtake guys who have maxed out their PP and in all likely hood don't know how to race, making it very dangerous to pass. I remember a race I had not too long ago at Fuji, I had the pace to overtake the guy in 1st, but once I had got through the field(from last) and dealt with his shocking driving(braking very early, all over the road, sliding) and didn't feel satisfied at all.
