first off i want to say i used the search couldnt find nothing if u dont believe me ill send u the link i got as the search results.

my questions,

are there any tricks that u could only do with memory manager?

is memory manager compatible with sharkport?

should i just quit being cheap and buy a real memory card that doesnt make me boot up all the time??

I believe that he's talking about the Memory Manager memory card by "Interact."
It requires a CD boot disk to work. It is able to compress memory, so it you have a game that takes up an inordinate amount of space (Like Baldur's Gate for example), but that you haven't played in a while, you can compress it to increase the space you have avaiable for new saves.
I actually have one of these. It's an okay system, but it feels cumbersome to me.
I also haven't used all it's features.
There are some games it doesn't work with. I've noted that Ace Combat 04 won't read the card as present, even if it's properly loaded.

well i dont believe that thread tells the whole truth. as you know the memory manager (both on Gs and Ar) is basicly like ziping your video game files. its is completely compatible with the Shark-Port/X-port, which ever your using. What i do is ontop of that, i send the X-mem to a file and then zip it on my computer to take up even less space. You can do some really cool stuff with your Shark-Port/X-port and Game Shark/Action Replay.

I have used the memory manager for the PS2 GS 3.1, and you can zip a copy of your game save, and re-save a new copy of GT3. I copied my original save, zipped it, and started a new GT3 game on the same card.

So I have 3 GT3 games, spread out on 2 cars. Hoever, I still retain an unzipped copy of the original save, just to be safe!

so let me get this straight basically, what everyone has stated here was that its a complete waste of time and money to own one of these things...? i used to love playing grand theft auto until my game started freezing up from all the cheats, and it was really annoying to boot the mem card up then wait another 5minutes to load up GTA

Yeah, the memory manager can make it a hassle to run a game. You have to wait longer for a game to start. My friend had a memory manager, and he didn't like it. He has a regular memory card now.

why i have it was because when i first bought my PS2 shortly after its release where i live, i was informed that there was a shortage onSony PS2 mem cards. so i had to settle for the next best thing. the reason i asked about the sharkport compatiablity was because i just ordered one through a site and its on its way now but i didnt think about if it could work before i bought it.

but either way i love GT3, the wait makes my game playing more worthwhile. i guess since no body else seems to know much more about this product, i will go ahead and just thank everybody for sharing thier knowledge with me.
