How do you get 132Hp out of a 2.2l petrol?
My 1.8 does 140hp, then when it beats a 2.2 camry it becomes a 1.5.

Hmmm... So this is where all those 2.2 jokes originated from. That thread was a good read! Poor eminembeastfan2... he probably doesn't even know/care about all the attention he's getting.

I hear that GM might be planning to drop a 2.2L engine in the C7 Z06.

The fiberglass body can't handle the torque of the 2.2. That's why Toyota stayed with steel.

To go back in time, a 2.2 Camry only needs to reach 87mph and doesn't require plutonium, so no Libyans trying to kill you.

Bargain. 👍
Yeah that was my thinking as well, I'm just amazed there aren't more on the roads.

I did question this, my 1.3 has 85bhp?

Well it certainly puts my 1.8l Tino to shame.

Is it from a German car?

The engine in the jazz does 100HP.

Quite funny how in this day and age same displacement cars do not have the same power output even if they are the same aspiration type.

There aren't more on the road because where they're going they don't need any.

In all fairness I drove a 2.2 and smoked many better cars because they didnt know we were racing. Serious stealth killer yall. I thought the jayZ out my OEMs would be enogh but no, apparently it took white exhaust smoke and the squeak of my bushings but I got the point across when I maid the pass at 45mph and race up to 60 with out him gaining an inch.

Gotta love the under funded and under matured the enthusiast right!?

That would be at a NASCAR track...

Well theoretically it should be on the actual track itself, but you know what I mean.

NASCAR wouldn't allow it on the track. Something about lapping the field 125 times. I think they're just silly. It's not like the 2.2L Camry ignores the law of physics or anything.

You must be new here.

The 2.2 is also the only front wheel drive car that is fast enough to wheelie.
I found a picture of its launch.

Truly amazing photography. An object moving that fast is hard to capture a clear shot of.

It has stupid torque:crazy:.
I used to have a Yaris with 95bhp but the polo i have now is ridiculously faster?

I'm considering asking someone in the photo mode forums to create a 2.2 camry time machine, would you back this as a new GTP banner?

Incredible the way that the wheels look like they are not moving. Just shows how fast it is.

You can say what you want but toyota camry are beast. They last longer than any other car and I can bet you I can beat a car that cost more in a full lap around the track

He's right. Here is me in my Camry back in 2007.

They've just left the grid and you're already on lap four! : bowdown:

Here's the Camry winning at Lemans. So fast that they couldn't officially record the time.

Oh right. It was so fast that it ended up going back in time and finishing the 1988 24 Hour race.

I didn't think they had high-speed cameras capable of capturing a shot of such a fast machine back then.

Should I mention it was probably going so fast that it took off the Mulsanne hill and ended up winning the 24 hours of Nurburgring instead? :sly:

I once asked my physics teacher about a 2.2 Camry. The fear on her face when I said it. She knew its physics bending abilities.

I noticed that there are no drivers in these photos. The car's so fast it's winning races with no one in it, the engine off, and set to park. This would also explain why the wheels aren't moving when it's launching at full power.

Either that or the light from the driver is being hidden by relativistic effects that occur when approaching the speed of light.

Nah, in the 1st one, the car accelerated so hard, I was actually laying down when the picture was taken.

Camry move on from this inane topic please?

I think it's gone on long enough.
