Does anyone actually use these functions?

GTTV
Yes, Some great shows on there. But I wish they would update it. It hasn't changed since day 1. Granted it's the off season. Maybe it's coming.

Arcade mode
Yes again. Basically, I don't much care about my 'career' in GT5, although I have managed to fumble my way to level 30. I like the fact that Arcade mode allows one to select the AI Strength. (Although they should rename them from Beginner--Intermediate--Advanced to Completely Incompetent--Mildly Annoying--Still Slow. :indiff:

3D features
I don't have a 3D TV and even if I did, I understand the 3D features in this game are nothing special.

Museum
I look from time to time and it's a nice feature. But I have 2 friends who are determined to fill it completely so most of my time is spent looking for specific cards and passing them on to one of two people.

Horns
Now this I have to say is a GREAT feature. Really! Seriously guys, I'm not being sarcastic here. Of course it's use is really limited to online. When I'm racing and somebody crowds me against a wall or has an off and is coming back on the track a quick blow of the horn is a great idea. Of course, just like the AI, a lot of people simply refuse to take notice. But I LOVE the horns. I thought it was going to be something completely useless but since I started using the horn, I just have a desire to toot my own horn all the time. OK, now I'm being sarcastic. But I actually really do like the ability to blow the horn. And watching a replay is often quite comical. I remember watching a replay of an online race where one car ran the other wide at a chicane and put him off the road. Two corners later that same car ran wide himself. And as the other car over took him he blasted the horn. Somehow I just found this virtual display of emotion very funny. That said, I've never exchanged one car's horn for another. And I doubt I will. I've never had the desire to do that in my real car either. But all kidding aside, I really think it's a great feature.

Storing parts in the Items section
Only by accident.

Split screen
No. And ah, NO! To think we could have had a decent LAN mode but instead we get a crippled and useless two player option.

Any of the "social" aspects of online. The walls, the messages etc.
Hell yes, all the time. And the fact that you can send such messages through the web porthole makes it incredibly useful.

Horns - No, but I have an ambitious idea involving 7 white cars, 5 black cars and 12 different horns :-D

Ohhh... I see where that's going. You're going to get a bunch of TVR's, Jags, Lotuses and Astons to play 'God save the queen'!

I love creative thinking!

GTTV
NO We have Youtube

Arcade mode
NO Useless without EXP and Cr rewards.

3D features
NO No 3D TV, and even if I had one...

Museum
NO They say it ****s up your save data.

Horns
NO Useless. But if they had La Cucaracha horn I would use it. Seriously. < http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0pf_0cFbVo

Storing parts in the Items section
NO Bought. Installed. That's how I work

Split screen
NO Just to get one trophy

Any of the "social" aspects of online. The walls, the messages etc.
NO I gift cars. Other than that, no.

With enough notes maybe a TG theme tune montage :-D Would be awesome

*Wishes he had recording and editing equipment*

Parts storage = I dupe parts everyday, I have a stupid amount of everything, this way I can buy a new car and fully max it out without spending a penny/cent..

Plus you can send 5 parts each day, 5 paints and 1 car, so I just make use of it as it saves money in the longrun..

The Item storage is usefull for gifting/trading like

"I'll give you car xy in exchange for 5 racing softs"

I'm a huge fan of the Best Motoring magazine, so I use GT TV quite a bit. I hope it's continually updated with new stuff from Best Motoring and possibly other automotive video magazines. I've only messed with Arcade mode a couple times. I check out the Museum from time to time.

There are a heap of things in GT5 that I just do not touch.

GTTV
Arcade mode
3D features
Museum
Horns
Storing parts in the Items section
Split screen
Any of the "social" aspects of online. The walls, the messages etc.

Anyone else?

GTTV - no...maybe later? if I am not racing my b-spec is grinding so I never really exit gt life
Arcade - no (even driving here sucks because you still cannot tune for online so its a pointless aspect to me)
3D - tried it out on my friends new tv...not that great
Museum - never seen it
Horns - yes. I wish they had a UUUUGGGGAAA horn been looking! I use the horns because online I love following people blaring the horn or get behind them and just lay on the horn and make them nervous lol. good times!
Storing parts - yes i send several friends parts all the time for their cars
Split screen - yes of course, we don't all have only "virtual" firends....do we?
Social - 50/50 I like the lounge and easy joining your friends room, mail is plain stupid, messages ahhh isnt that what PSN is for?

There are a heap of things in GT5 that I just do not touch.

GTTV - I use this occasionally; there are some really interesting films to be found.

Arcade mode - I have the odd race with my wife, but she's a cheating git.

3D features - No 3D Tele.

Museum - Again, some really interesting stuff to go through.

Horns - A waste of time and effort.

Storing parts in the Items section - I've done this, but only by accident when clicking "no" in the install now option.

Split screen - See 'Arcade mode'.

Any of the "social" aspects of online. The walls, the messages etc. - I've written something on my own wall once.

Anyone else?

Answers in bold.

I have to say - GT5 would have been much bigger if PD concentrated on cars and racing first and foremost. The other 'extras' like the museum, GTTV and what not, although interesting, are actually pointless.

I installed a horn once. All it does is change the existing sound of the cars horn to a different one. Usless.

You can press the horn while driving with the L3 button. I wish it would tell the competition to get out of the way. That way, I'd make B-spec BOB use it so he can actually overtake the other drivers for once.

GTTV NO
Arcade mode May in the future but not yet
3D features NO
Museum NO
Horns NO
Storing parts in the Items section NO
Split screen NO
Any of the "social" aspects of online. The walls, the messages etc. NO

GTTV - once when I got first got the game, haven't since
Arcade mode - Not yet
3D features - Nope since I don't have a 3D tv
Museum - a couple of times when I was bored
Horns - Nope
Storing parts in the Items section - Nope because I always install parts right away
Split screen - Nope because no one I have over want to play
Any of the "social" aspects of online. The walls, the messages etc. - Yes a lot. My friend and I are constantly messaging each other using this function.

I mess with the horns once in a while, like putting a wimpy horn on a brute car, or vice-versa. I never thought about the items list as a way of storing "wealth" -- the game only allows 20M credits so anyone sick of losing money can just buy a bunch of upgrades and don't install them (then they will go to the items list). I don't have this problem because I can't seem to keep more than a few mil in my account, but using the items list in this way is a great idea!

I've used everything apart from Split Screen and 3D. I've stopped using the messaging as messages take forever to send and recieve. PSN's own system is much better.

GTTV - No.
Arcade Mode - Yes, quite a lot.
3D features - Nope. 3D is just a gimmick IMO.
Museum - A couple of times.
Horns - Not really.
Storing parts in the Items section - By accident. I usually install the parts right away.
Split screen - No, since i only have one PS3 controller.
Any of the "social" aspects of online. The walls, the messages etc. - No.

Arcade mode if I'm racing against the Mrs or my mates. Obviously a must have feature, albeit one that is not used all that often by moi.

Type S Tony
No thread Hijack intended but here it go's anyway,

How do you set up split screen play for GT5? got the 2 tv's just no idea how the run them as a split screen for gt5?

Hahahaha... You can't be serious. Split screen is where two people play on the same game, same, tv, same system. It splits the screen in half so you and your friend can play.
