Just maybe one of the developers showed the online community how to do the SSR7 glitch? Come on let's be honest, who figures something like that out? I know it is not impossible, but very unlikely that someone would just stumble across that opportunity!

Hey maybe it was a gamer! Who knows?

What do you think?

it could be but I doubt it: there are far too many people out there with far too much time on their hands.

...and for that we thank them.

I think someone @ PD put the glithc in the game, notice how the track is not used in single played, also that the only type of car you can glitch with is the GT-R. Coincidence? Possibly. Conspiracy theory? Maybe

I hear ya! The more I think about all of the variables involved with doing it, the more it seems unlikely to be a random find:)

The track itself is rather unfinished, glitchy textures etc.

Although I believe it's another random find by someone who was just messing around.

This is a super high speed track, one that you would like to race an LM car ,an F1 or best yet the X1.Who,in their mind of course :) ,would have liked to enter this track in a relatively slow GT-R ??It's an inside job as far as i'm concerned...

You give people way too much credit to conspire for something like this.

Yes exactly. Considering someone platinumed the game in like a month (which IMO is almost unfathomable), I am SURE there are people who have nothing better to do with their lives than figure this out.

You can find glitches like this one in many games (think of many shooters or mmoprgs - basically every game with extensive maps).
It happens when immaginary tracks are created (in haste).
There is almost always a point where two track sets (like the wall in ss7) are not overlapping each other enough.
If the corner wall would have been longer, this glitch would not exist.

Having this in mind, its likely (but not 100% sure) to find other occurences of this glitch in tracks where you have the same u-turn corner.

I absolutely don't think that. It makes no sense whatsoever that someone at pd, presumably a game tester looking for bugs, would find a mundane colision detection glitch like that and instead of reporting it as usual would keep it secret and tell anyone outside of pd about it. They wouldnt even give it a second thought. "i've reported every other glitch i've found like i'm supposed to, but this time... REVENGE IS MINE!" on the other hand if a casual player found it they wouldn't hesitate to screw around and let their imagination run wild. Oh and without a doubt they would tell all their friends about the cool glitch they found as soon as humanly possible. Really which scenario makes No sense and which makes a whole lot of sense??
Also to add to that unfortunately for pd and any other software company millions of end users worldwide will always be millions of times faster and more efficient at finding glitches than any testing team they could ever dream of putting together. If a glitch is found after a game has been released as far as i'm concerned it's a very safe bet that it wasn't the developers but the public that found it.

It's right at the apex of the hairpin so it was most likely a gamer that found it. It's a simple glitch that anyone messing around on the track would find.

Doubt hardly it was something to do with PD. Just a poor 3D modeled corner with empty hole in it. Someone just forgot to put wall in there, left just textures.

I've no doubt someone just stumbled upon the gap and got outside the track, I still wonder why they then decided to head underneath the start line, and then noticed they could do laps by going in circles/doing doughnuts.

I'm curious to know if anyone NOT using this "glitch" believes it to be a PD conspiracy, or if this theory is limited solely to those looking to assuage their guilt for exploiting poor, poor little Gran Turismo by blaming Big Daddy Polyphony Digital.

I guess someone wanted to end therace with a nice slip, flew trough the wall and then tried to figure out how thta hapoen, and how he can use that in his advantage.

All these cheaters trying to rationalize their cheating makes me think that they actually feel bad about it.

Here's I think it couldve happened:
The GT-R is a pretty common car to want to test out, seeing as how it is the successor in the line of skylines/R##.
SS7 glitch spot: who wouldn't bs around on that track? That particular spot - I can see a lot of hoonage around that barrier. So once in the map, of course, anyone would run batsh-- crazy. Just so happens to end up underneath the start/finish line and notices that it just clocked a lap in.

And the rest is history...

....and very likely to be a moot point too soon, hope its not before Wed. reset so I can finish level 39 :) funny how this was super easy cash, now if you dont turn 1.5xx you will be upper mid pack. Same if it take you more than 5-10sec to find the sweet spot

I could go either way..inside leak or an observant guy just checking out whats outside, I know I would but prob would not have made the right connection

Lots of good thoughts above. Well regardless of who found the glitch it is an interesting find that has added a different flavor to the online game lately! I think lots of folks have learned to do burnouts and those who already knew how to do them just honed their skills some more!

Glitches like this are easy to find, just need to know where to look. As i posted in another thread, if you have a good history of MMORPG gaming, especially lower populated ones, you will know how to find these glitches. Trust me, this one aint the only one in the game. Bugs like this will always exist.

All matter of luck and trial and error. Like Slashzor said, they are easy to locate once you know where to look. People with knowledge on 3D modeling will know that it is easier render objects only on what's visually necessary. Whilst others who've played shooters/mmorpg with this knowledge know they can exploit these "holes" in the render to a certain extent. Shooting bullets through certain sections of the wall, shortcuts across invisible plains, trap monsters on ledges etc. In the end you get exploits like the B5 License "crash" test and SSR7 donuts.
