Does anyone use exhaust systems other than Racing Exhaust?

I can understand that titanium racing exhaust looks pretty cool on most cars it gets put on, mainly because of it's blue-tinted exhaust tips. However, on other cars such as the GT-R and '69 Corvette, the exhaust either looks horrible, or makes the car sound terrible. Lately I've been installing semi-racing exhaust on my newest projects and some old favorites. Oh my god it makes a difference. The Sambabus goes from sounding like a riced Civic to a quiet but mean muscle car, the SLS sounds amazing and has 4 COMPLETELY blue exhaust tips, and the California is LOUD as heck! Does anybody else prefer semi-racing exhaust over full racing exhaust on some of their cars? Feel free to discuss below.

I don't care about looks really. It's all about tuning for me. If I want/can put racing exhaust on I will.

While I haven't tried it, I've thought about it and now after reading your post I think I will give it a shot especially on the cars that sound terrible after installing the racing exhaust.

Hmm I never tried it. I always use the titanium racing exhaust. I assumed that all of the aftermarket ones sounded the same and look very similar (same tailpipe count and location). Still, it's all about the power for me...

I mostly don't like the sound of racing exhausts, so I just don't use them...

If I'm modding for pure performance and speed, then titanium racing exhaust it is! But, if I want a nice tune/setup with a good sound, then I'll most likely choose the other two exhausts. I've been using the sports exhaust a lot more lately.

I buy the racing and semi-racing if I'm going to tune a car. I try them both and then decide which I like the best.
Sometimes I even decide to go back to the stock exhaust.

I only using racing exhausts if I'm going for pure power, otherwise I'll buy all 3 and see which one sounds the best. Usually it's either stock or semi-racing with the best sounds. Occasionally sports or racing has the best sound.

I basically do this.

Just noticed when you put semi-racing exhaust on a Sambabus, it gives it two exhaust pipes. Nice! 👍

For my project cars I just use the semi or sports racing. I dont want a whole lot of power for my street cars so yeah. Just more than what they come with. But when it comes to racing cars it's always going to be the racing exhaust.

As you and Toronado... I do the same...

And for supercars, etc... I stick to the stock one... all the rest, destroy the sound :(

I buy what i feel the car needs to fit my driving style. I usually end up with sports exhaust because im not out to mod my cars to the max. I SOMETIMES use the stock exhaust cause I dont need to upgrade it. This is a highly personal issue depending on what your end goal is.

I use Sports on my GT-R Vspec as it is the only one that does not change the rear exhaust looks but makes it sound nicer and gives a little bit of power.

👍

If I'm making a street legal car I'm putting sports.
If I'm making a race-ready car I'm putting titanium.

Many cars are specifically tuned to sound a certain way by the manufacturer. Changing exhausts can have a big effect on the car's sound. GT5 reflects this, and since I don't like how some of the exhaust notes change, I try to do without an exhaust when possible.

I almost always buy all three and just use the one that sounds best. I make up for the slight loss in power by driving harder.

For example, the RX8 sounds best with the sports exhaust (in my opinion) so on my 'street' rx8 (very mildly tuned) I have sports. On my full gran-am spec (or at least as close as I can get it) I have the full race exhaust. It's more corse and rough, but it still sounds pretty amazing at 10,500rpm. :)

Some cars (n/a usually) have more torque with the non-race exhaust. It may reducethe HP (which can be useful for HP limited races) and increase torque. This is the only reason why I get the other exhausts as I don't care how it looks or how it sounds.

I used to go full on race exhaust on everything. Then I started to hate how everything sounds the same. SO now I stick with stock or in most cases, the sports one. Has made the cars sound alot better and really the few horsepower difference doesn't matter. The ferraris in particular sound so much better, as does my 71 Mach 1. After driving one for years, it sounded horrid to me with the racing exhaust.

I will never apply a racing exhaust to a muscle car.. It destroys the sound that I love. I also never apply racing exhausts to street/sport cars. I mean c'mon, a race exhaust on a suzuki swift!? I tune the car to please me, not tune to go as fast as possible 👍

Well said! 👍

unless im making a full racing car i will buy all exausts and just compare the sounds to see which one ill install, i dont care if its best just to have the stock one in the end
