Does everyone online feel the need to crash into you and ruin your race?

I swear every single race I have entered so far has been ruined by someone crashing into me at the pivotal point of a turn causing me to spin out and go from 2nd or 3rd place to last place. Its getting to be very frustrating, especially with my G25.

Yeah I know what you mean. But I do take alot of pleasure in watching all the tuned elises' crashing into each other at the first turn at Fuji when I just drive off scratch free.

I've become very talented with the art of being able to avoid cars in GT5P now. Thats what online does to you!!

I gave up on online ages ago, the ramming can be pretty bad and I don't like the rubberbanding aswell as the PP races, I mostly drive standard cars.

Private servers with friends would fix pretty everything, which is on it's way apparently.

I have stopped retaliating. Knowing that private races will happen together with my new mantra of "Calm and Collected" has made my online racing much more pleasant...

It also gets old really fast doing nothing but looking in your rear view mirror :-D

Today especially, it is very annoying. There are more and more people pushing and raming.
The problem? The prize are too high I think, some drivers will do anything for the 50K Cr.

i've never retaliated but normally take a line that keeps me out off danger when passing or knowing when there's nothing I can do to prevent a pass,

but today I met the biggest T%&T ever, DRsteve62.

never have I seen someone like this, ramming, blocking, brake testing anything you can think of. and he never gets spun out because he uses ASM to stop this.

PD please gives simulation mode were ASM is not available.

Not every one, just the heels! Get into the 700pp pro races, its a little easier there. 👍

I've been playing in the intermediate online races at Fuji, yeah there's only like 2-3 guys per race but the racing is much more clean and enjoyable. The PP700 races are good too.

i have to say the most common race ender for me has been approaching turn 2 at suzuka. Many times I go approach the corner from the outside to give the other car room and they always nudge me just before the corner starts sending me off into the sand.

Must be somthing happening today as the standard of people driving is so low. I'm sure SCE has got a contract to install PS3's in zoos across europe!

 I've noticed too! Remember its a weekend, and 'the kids' have probably had one too many skittles!

Thats a "feature" of GT5P. 👍

Had a funny (and annoying) encounter with "El_ZISSOU", might have got the spelling wrong. He drove a white GTR, and every time I was in front of him in my R8 at Suzuka, he rammed me every chance he could get. The next race I decided to be a pain in the butt and braked every time he rammed, and hit the gas. It worked for half a lap. Then he rammed me BIG TIME.

The funny thing is, once he got in the lead he was finishing races in the 6'40 to 6'50 range, so why doesn't he use his good driving skills to pass people cleanly instead of ramming them?

Ditto but on Daytona and Suzuka... usually there are three max (including me); last night played til 5:30am with a couple of the same people. Very clean and close.

Most satisfying moment I had was at the HSR in my QT fezza 512 on an intermediate server (pp600?), lots of rammers and numpties were there, but I just used my far superior tactics and drove around them all while they tried to take each other out in their tuned Elises, Evo's etc and won a few races.....what morons they were, beaten by a 32 year old car driven by a 36 year old man!
I would hope they were calling me a haxxor or something similar, the joy of listening to them would have been a good laugh!

 It already is!

I like when you start a race at Suzuka, there's always 3 or 4 cars that wipes out in the first corner

This late morning it was really bad, I guess 10 year olds hating to lose and thinking the track is an old stock car race.
This evening it was much better, play late = much better.

I was extremely pissed, I was in 2nd place and I managed to draft the punk in a Ford GT ahead of me, so when he got a chance to draft by me he decided to give me a nap that sent me spiralling into the wall and costing me the race unfortunately.

But its karma I guess, earlier in a race at Fuji I accidentally hit a guy in his F430 while trying to make a pass and he lost a few positions. I wish we had a horn! :D

On the positive note, I've saved up for 380k in credits and have yet to complete any S-class races. Decisions, decisions and decisions.

I had a few similar encounters with the same guy. He's a decent driver, but for some reason felt the need to play bumper cars.

I was in some of the same races with you, GP, and found that the GTP label is actually working! I'll convert over soon, once I clear the S class. :sly:

I totally agree, I wish there was a horn ahah :D I was just playing the London Track and when I overtook this dude cleanly because he braked late and I took the inside of the last turn, he didn't decide to brake on the U turn and sandwiched me big time. :(
I don't know if this has been discussed but I think GT5p should have qualifiers but to save the hassle of doing it before every race you play, it should just access your time trial records and position players according to times. This may help resolve getting through all the slow and dirty players when you get positioned last (which I get all the time :( ) .

i really love the oppertunity to go online with the new gran turismo title..
but as said... some crash-kids are so radical in their driving...
i dunno how to say it..
i stopped playing hi-speed ring
i only drive suzuka on 700pp. there are less drivers and mostly they are way more skilled and fair which is more fun to me.
i had a couple of good fair races yesterday tho, really enjoyed it..

Don't go to Beginners section. It's a Burnout race where people don't know how to control a car. Just go to Expert class because skilled drivers stay up there.

There are 2 errors in this problem.

The first is of course the drivers.
The second is the catch-up system, for example. If you're in 3rd place for the whole first lap and on the second lap you get pushed out you'll end up 9th or so with a car handling way different from the car you drove on 3rd place. It changes the brake points, the wheels will spin much easier. Some cars get really hard to control when you're in the back.

Thank you, I'm glad someone else noticed this, it means I'm not going crazy.

I hate it when I take the lead when someone spins out into the gravel trap but at the very next corner I exit it the same way I always do pushing the car to a certain limit but because I'm now leading the car will lose rear grip/wheel spin more thus making the car turn around and I'm like .

Now when I'm in the back of the pack I can run superman laptimes 3 or more seconds faster then my average lap...

Are you guys sure there is a catch-up system? On Expert Pro mode races I have won by 20 seconds or more sometimes. I notice that you lose grip for a quarter of a lap if you go in the grass or gravel, but I think that's just PD making it realistic. Although it is a pain in the butt when people ram you into the gravel pit...
