crikey guys, just wanted to ask if playing gt5 affects your relationship, me and the wife spend more than enough time together, i play the game late at night when shes catching up on her studies or running her business, the main argument is the getting to bed late and being grouchy in the mornings, my wife bought me the game for christmas, after alot of hinting during the adverts

it annoys her that if im not running bob on b-spec or in the marketplace orginizing trades, im fully aware that gt5 is not real life, i am gonna buy the disc again but trim the amount of time i spend on it, its a shame because i just started showing the kids how to grind for daddy

just search your wife´s gay friends... they can talk all night long and you dont have to care about it because a gay dont touch woman´s^^:dopey:

Perhaps, but clearly the man is spending so much time on GT5 that his wife feels the need to destroy it. Must be pretty obsessed with the game if you ask me.

you havnt met her, lovely as she is this was done out of spite, the same wife who smashed 2 of my ps2's during the early stages of our marriage

i will cut the time but wont cut it out completley as its a game, an awesome game, just have to work something out together where we are both happy

Sounds like a nice wife you have there.

Pick your spots! :)

I raced on the Concours Club event Sunday morning while my wife watched her 2.5 hours of Coronation Street :sly:

Or tell her it's only a 'virtual affair' with a racing game :)

Does your wife have a hobby or something? I play GT5 while my wife plays Pot Farm and Neopets...and while she's watching Teen Mom (fail fail fail fail have to wear earphones during this, or I'd throw my monitor through the TV) or America's Next Top Model. This gives me easily four hours a day lol.

And no, we don't have kids.

Haha awsome to see this.

Why dont we get some rest while we play this game. It is like ''hey im her, im more important than that stupid game ! Turn off that volume, stop talking with your headset''

We love you GT5 ! But we cant love you as much as we love our ''Love''.

However, I'd like to play GT5 without getting mad lol.

GT5 does affect my relationship with my girlfriend - she's already told me that she's jealous of the game. We've worked it out, though - I have set nights during the week when I race, and the other nights I spend time with her. I'm slowly turning her, though - I already bought her a Fairlady Z from the dealership and have been encouraging her to try it on the wheel and see if she likes it.

I'm surprised everyone is siding with the OP's wife. She has serious issues if she destroys your personal property.

Well, we don't know the whole story, do we? However, we've all seen (or been) video game addicts, and from my experience with them, most likely her action was justified. It's a marriage, and there are responsibilities that shouldn't be ignored, even for GT5.

lol how many of you keep your ps3's running and remote race while your doing errands

my gf is always asking me why i leave it on and if she did i would rage,
lol

LOL! My wife bought a Lexus LF-A all on her own by running the Clubman Championship with the Mugen Motul Civic!! That civic is still her favorite car in the game :)

But... seriously, some of the WAGs out there may feel the same way as OP's... whether we admit/ realize it or not. So take the time and do something for her, before she 'snaps' (no pun intended :dopey:)

My girl hates that I play GT so much!!! All I ever hear is "When are we going to play Black Ops?" Gosh, it's hard to find a good girl. Especially when she plays with a pink controller. LOL

My TV has a split screen PIP feature so I can race while my wife watches Glee or Jersey Shore...It's great as I used to have a separate TV in the living room just for gaming while the wife watched TV. I can't stand watching TV much, far to passive for me.

I am so sorry. That's gotta suck! I honestly have to fight her and the kids for the right to play. It can get pretty intense actually. Could be allot worse, I suppose.

i always get my way, i paid for everything in my house :)

I'd like to hear a female's perspective on this situation! I have to think that GTP's assembled female population would feel slighted that there are so many who have GT5'd to the breaking (pun intended!) point!

I do a quite a bit of GT5, but I don't let it interfere with real life in any way... real-world relationships are infinitely more valuable than a mere game, at least to me. Also, methinks there are a few communication issues in the OP's relationship; i.e. for neglect of person and destruction of personal property. It takes two to tangle, though. However, that being said, the person who mentioned that we don't actually know most of the back story also brings up a good point - so it's hard to pass final judgment either way.

Although if your significant other busts your GT5 disc I'd consider that a VERY strong message that you're doing something wrong!:scared:

Just my .02!👍

Also, where's the 'I'm single so HA!' option in the poll???:sly:

My misses sits and watches some of the time saying things like "aren't you suppose to be on the track?" or "with how much you play this, I thought you would be better". So yes, it affects me with comments like that. I told her to put her money where her mouth is and handed her my second DS3. She almost beat me... now that WOULD have DESTROYED my relationship with her.

P.S. I was using an underpowered car when racing her, but still, she picked it up fast. Hmm.
