Does someone know a Real Driving Simulator for PC

I am looking for a Driving Simulator for the PC

be more specific. what type.

f1, wrc, gt like (use real cars, mod them)

for f1: gp legends, and gp4

wrc: colin mcrae rally 3

gt: f1 2002 with gt mod

arcadey: nfshp2

Im prbably forgetting some, but this is what i can remember off of the top of my head.

Try NFS: Porsche Unleashed. Best porsche sim avaliable, although it's a little old. More realistic physics than other NFS games. You should be able to find it dirt cheap too !

Racer is very good. and of course, it's free. the betas are much better then v.0.4.9.

and there are some REALLY nice cars for racer.

OK, so i have downloaded a few cars, how can i put them into the game?

open the zip, most of the cars have a readme.txt and explain what to do.

but i will tell you anyway

extract the contents of the zip to racer\data\cars
make sure u check "use forlder names" or somthing to the equivalent. if the zip doesn't have path data in it, then make a new dir (name of the car works best..heh) and extract the contents there.

also check this site. they have a collection of most of the cars and tracks for racer. look at the "compatability page" to see which cars will work with the newest betas. anything that is atleast beta6 compatable will work with beta 7 and 8. enjoy

I don't think you can. I wanted a normal controls for the racer...

Hmm, i just downloaded 0.4.9, installed the BMW V12 LMR and it just started bouncing around, so i'm now installing the Monaco track.

don't use 0.4.9
use the beta 8 (0.5.x)
uhm, configuring controls, sure u can do that. after u run the config.exe and have select a controller layout, go to data\ctrlsets and edit the apropriate *.ini. almost everything in racer can be editing in the ini's. car setups are ini's, control...gfx...lots of racer functions. just poke around the gfx.ini and racer.ini and the the control ini u want to use. it's all pretty simple

as for other simulator's, yea there are a bunch. but u want city driving huh? i don't know any for that...but i guess GTA3 has plenty of that no?

i'll say one thing that games definently good for...taking some kick ass burnout pics

I just wish more cars worked w/ the new version....i tried the id= version = thing on some of my older cars, but i couldnt get it to work

yea, the burnouts are nice good pics too. i like the last one the best. there is a thread over at the RSC forums, where they post pics n stuff. they started posting burnout pics lately. u should post that last one. hehe

jah, the cars thing sux anus you either have to learn to edit the .inis yourself, or wait till someone else does. bah.
