Does the Driving Force GT HAVE to be attached to a table?

I would agree that if you don't already have something stable to attach it to -and you're not willing to buy or build one- then it doesn't make sense to get a wheel.

Having said that, there are a number of 3rd party wheel stands available, such as the wheel stand pro or the Xlerator wheel stand.

Minimal space with maximum stability. If you are willing to spend $150 it is perfect. I use it with my Driving Force Pro and absolutely love it. It is very adjustable and you can pack it away easily without having to take the wheel and pedals off.
