Well now that i have done the gt-world champ, I wound up with the gt-one road car. And now im gonna go ahead and do the first 2 or 3 races of the pd cup...

The reason why i put this thread is because you people might have some kind of advice on this for those have dones this race before.

if any advice, please post it.;)

thanks,
~akira

It will be a total blow-out with that car. . . try something challenging like a Camaro Z28. :D

try a nissan Z and pit when they do
Toyota road car (blonde moment, cant remember what car was called) is no fun, maybe try it on softs or supersofts that may be a challenge. Anyone every tried it?

You need that for a total blow out??? I find no fun in that. What is the point of being 5 laps ahead of the competition? Try something that will only give you a second or two to win the race by.

like I said... Nissan Z and pit when they do or run on slick tires.
Once the opp. becomes aggressive they make many mistakes... taking corners too early, not turning sharp enough, well not turning sharp enough but going to fast for how sharp the corner is. things like that

Do it first in the Toyota GT-One if you want, but then be sure to go back and do it with something like a Camaro, or a car that is slightly slower than the competition...have some fun! ;)

I was able to do it in a Beetle RSi. So pretty much anything faster than that should do. Use T3's i think.. that should make u have to pit about the same time or maybe a bit after the AI. This will be a joke with the GT-One Road Car ;)

I guess that would be the best thing to do

I used the Viper Concept on Normal tires for the PD Cup, and it was way too easy. I won each race by several laps.

The R390 Road Car isn't that bad, since it only has 370 HP stock. The GT-One Road Car, XJ220 Road Car and the Speed 12 are all complete overkill for this race.

I used the Ruf CTR2, and it too, was a blow out. The Z06 pitted every 2-3 laps, so the NSX was my closest competition.

I tried save-reload 5 times, and gave up on winning the F094/S. The game stopped being fun, so I "settled" for the Escudo. (How many times can you race the same car, at the same track, for 20 laps, race the same competition, and still enjoy the game? Thus, I'll try something else for an F1 car.)

Well, you see pupik, you haven't quite got the right save-reload trick. The two memory card one is the most useful for long races:
1. Save after second-last race of a series - assuming you have enough points to win the series without racing the last race.
2. Skip the last race.
3. Go through prize car roulette.
4. If you don't get the car you want, reload from card 1.
5. Rinse, repeat.
6. If you DO get the car you want, save to card 2. Reload from card 1.
7. Do the race - and win the series.
8. Go back to your garage and use the trade function to buy the car off card 2. Save to both cards...
Of course you need a fair old wedge of cash to buy an F094/S - 3.5 million isn't it? - so this plan isn't always the best. Plus you need 2 memory cards to do it.

 Settled for the escudo?! lol are you nuts? Anway think thats bad it took me like 18 tries to get that damn speed 12 from the tuscan races. Even in a good color too (red if im right.)

Just dont get it sometimes...:odd:

I've got 2 speed 12's from that race. One Red (sorry hate that colour) and a black one :D

Well I guess I am either a pandantic bugger or just persistant, as I will run the last race over and over and over and over until I get the car I want.

I used the nismo 400R for the PD cup. I was pretty evenly matched with the Skyline R34, but of course he was racing on much softer tires and had to pit way more than me. The Lotus Elise would grab the silver most races because he never pitted.

Anyway, what I do to get the car I want is
Save before the last race
Enter race / exit => Win
Repeat until I get the car I want
Race the stage by itself later

Well, If you're looking for an MR, the TOyota MR2 GTS can win it (T2 tires) and the Elise 190, as well as the Opel Speedster can do it.

Blast it with the GT-one and then come back with a car that'll be a bit more fun.

...and you still need to win the car you want. My point exactly.

I was curious to see what an 1800+hp car acted like without the use of hybrids. I might as well make those Test Course races worth something. I am regretting the loss of the Speed 12. Had I the opportunity for a second mem card, I would have saved it twice at the 9th race of 10 at the PD Cup.

Trouble is, I don't always have time for 35-minute races. So I cut my losses, and will try again another time.

I did it with the RX7-RZ you win and that was a pretty good challenge. It takes longer and is more challenging with something like that but it is more satisfying when you win :)

Making a Test Course race worth something? Pffft! :D

The point is, although you still need to run the last race (well, you do if you're bothered about 100% win rates and such like) the winning of the car takes much less time and means you don't have to re-run the full race. But if you don't have a second mem card, then it's pretty much ignorable.

Memory cards are expensive - and cheap ones suck - but you could get a cheap third-party one for the sole purpose of car winning?

Try the Lancia Delta HF integrale Rally Car with full upgrades. This is hard but possible. I've done it.

If that is too hard, try the SuperAutoBacs APEX MR-S JGTC Race Car with a Turbo 1 upgrade. This is challenging, but an easy win.:D

Crap! I was thinking of the wrong race. This are pointers for the Mistral Endurance Race, not the PD Cup. Sorry for the confusion people.

For the PD Cup, I like the RX-8 with T3's and an oil change. This car is an easy win, but still remains a challenge. Anything higher than that is really an overkill.

If I remembe this series properly, you can't use any modifications to a car except oil change, and tires. . . ???
