Can some one help me with trying to remove a program that has been removed and the game tells me that it is still there and is currupted.

What kind of program? Game? Save Data?

Just locate it, press Triangle, delete.

The game is the most evil 'F1 2010"

I did remove it but when I try to reinstall the game, that I had just deleted, the game still sees something that was left behind and it thinks that the game is still there, and what it sees it thinks is corrupt and won't let the game be reinstalled until I remove the game which has been removed. Say that three times fast. :(

You need to delete both Save Data and Game Data. They are two different things.

I found the game in the Game Data Utility and removed that but when I go to the "Saved Data Utility (PS3), there is nothing there, same thing w/ "Saved Data Utility (minis) nothing there. Where else do I look to find the info that must exist in the area that you are refering to? The two that I could find were empty. :nervous:

Also when I go to my Game Datat Utility and then look at each of my games that are highlighted, I hit the TRIANGLE and expect to see something like “ SAVE” “ DELETE” “INFORMATION”. But there is no “ SAVE” option w/ any of my games like LBP, SHIFT, SCC, RATCHEN n CLANK, GT5p, nothing. What could be going on?

Did the evil "F1 2010" when it crashed, destroy all my "save data files" when it destroyed it's own saved data files?

You won't see a "Save" option, because that'd save it to your Save Data folder... which is the same place. Put a pen drive in and you'll see a "Copy" option though.

Game Data contains the install file. Delete that and the install is removed. Save Data contains your saved games. Delete that and your saved games are deleted. Save Data = You; Game Data = Installation.

It'd be helpful for you to have the PS3 manual to hand so you don't delete something you might need to keep. Here.

I really would suggest checking everything twice. Try and organise you "Save Data" section by game. Press [] square this may just help locate the file your after quicker, it may also be bug and once organised like this it may appear. It's definatly a weird bug.

[edit] you may want to have a look around the official forums for codies. If you do get an answer please come back to us and let us know as someone may have the same problem. Codies have dedicated threads for bugs so you may get a quick answer from them. That is if it's not just F1, could be the PS3 itself.

How you getting on with this Lefty?

If you really cannot delete the required data (double check as above), then you'll need to format the HDD and start from scratch with your PS3 install. If you've got a USB stick/external USB drive then you can copy over any saved data you are allowed to (not all allow it, Shift iirc is one).

When the thing kept locking up and I would reboot the consol, it would go through a restore routine and nothing would change. Until the PS3 locked up one last time and when I restarted the thing, the lock up restart went through a different procedure, this time it said it was rebuilding the data base.

Out of the middle of no where everything was like nothing had ever happened. It was like my glue sniffing trip was over without ever inhaling. I stuck the game disk back in and it installed the game like it did when I first got it and all my files were back in the save utility area. It’s all good now, everything is working fine and it only took me about a day of absolute misery. I highly recommend it if you want to lose some weight quickly.

Glad to see things are back to normal. Nothing like a bit of stress to help the day go by.
