Seen it before on www.boners.com (not a porn site, despite what the title suggests. It's a funny picture thing)

Women drivers aren't all bad. Some of them are terrible.

It wasn't fully her fault. It looks difficult to judge the distance down to the bottom of the pit.

I still laughed at her misfortune.

I know. Even if the car wasn't filling with water (which it is), how could they even think they have a snowball's chance in Hell of pulling a car out of a hole?

I've heard about the sinkholes before. They were bad in Florida a while back due to everything being a %@)#$&^%(@*## SWAMP! Idiots. It's like people in California being surprised when their house is demolished by an earthquake. Or living in Hawaii and being burned alive by a volcano. Or living in Alaska and being surprised to see snow up to your window. Or living in Wyoming and not understanding "Beware of moose". Or living in Arkansas and being surprised to see hill billies hunting muskrat in your back yard. Or .... whoa .... I need to stop.

Uh, why is there a big hole like that in the middle of the street, it's concrete isn't it. If it is in concrete then shouldn't that be fixed. And how did it get that deep without being fixed. Or is that off of the road, in the dirt area. It looks like it's in the middle of the street though.

It's actually in the road. Sinkholes occur from various causes. People suck the water out of the ground and the ground caves in from above ... or the ground wasn't very stable to begin with ... so and so forth.

Nothing keeps them from happening under roads or even buildings (I've seen pictures of houses that just dropped into the ground). They aren't prevelent all over, but in certain areas they are very common. Florida was my example because it's mostly soft swampy land already.

I would guess that it was raining, and this hole dropped through the road, and the hole filled with water to the point that you couldn't see it. Then a woman came along and drove right in. I still wonder how they caught the whole thing on film though.

You can see the edge of the pavement in the foreground as it's being pulled into the hole by gravity (I suppose).

That's really interesting. When I saw the first photo, I thought it was shopped because it just looked like a big puddle to me.

 O' boy. here we go again.

Here goes what again? I thought the first picture looked fake. I have never heard of a sinkhole before, considering they aren't that common around where I live. I've read the other posts, I see what it is. I fail to understand what you mean.
