I think this game is racist and so is this kaz guy, let me start off with that there are over 600 Japanese cars in this game and a little over 100 euro same goes for the us cars. There are over 20 permium nissans while the other makes range from 1 car to the mid 10s. With this logic yes the gtr definatly has a little something something hiddin in there so its just a little bit faster.

The GT series has always favored Japanese cars. If I remember correctly in GT1 all the used cars were Japanese market. I used to wonder what a "Fairlady" or a "Silvia" was!
By the way, Kaz IS Japanese so he favors cars from his own home, his own youth. What is amazing is now I love all of the historic cars and European cars I was first introduced to through GT series. I think Kaz has helped create a worldwide love of cars regardless of their origin or their era. This is quite the opposite of racism.

Oh yeah. When you design a car game you can put any cars in it you like, how about that?

The GT-R has posted far faster times than the Lambo on many occasions.

Rather have 600 Japanese cars than 600 American cars any day. Personally I would like more European cars and no American cars. People Cry i want american cars yet all i see online are the corvette and viper variants with the occasional muscle and pony cars. Its not like you guys are using the variety anyways so why cater?

This is the reason the GTR out performs other cars. It's the ultimate AWD sports car. You can't underestimate the advantage of power in all wheels pulling through various turns. Especially at the 'ring's many turns.

It's just a better car than Ferrari is capable of producing. I realize that's sacrilege, but it's also true. The penalty for an AWD system is that it is heavy, as is the GT-R's powerplant, but it's perfected and more forgiving because you still have power in situations other cars don't.

BTW, I don't like this car as much as technically inferior ones, but the truth is in the lap times.

GT5 does NOT replicate the hyped "computer system d00d" that is present in the GT-R or any in-game car such as the 458 Italia.

Conclusion. Because it's got every bit of bias going for it.

AYC is definitely present in the GT5 version of the Evo.

It's in the tuning options, and was mentioned in patch notes.

If it's present in the Evo similar systems could be present in other cars.

Hey don't get me wrong I never said I wanted 600 american cars, I just think that a 1:6 ratio is a bit rediculous don't you? On I side note I'm not the biggest fan of american cars.

Edit- I would also like to point out that the only car that can do the new money xp glitch is infact the gtr well wuddya know...

I am pretty sure if they try seriously, It will beat the GTR, Ferraris are never big on ring time for their production models.

So you really think that a PS3 sim could replicate the same sort of results that cars full of advanced computers are full of?

I'm sure the systems in GT5 are accurate to a point, but there's only so much they can replicate, and I wouldn't be surprised if the GT-R's was given a little extra love than say the 458's.

EDIT: I don't mean to say that the GT-R isn't a fast car, it certainly is quick. But I'm addressing the possible bias that PD has to this car, especially since they put in 4 different road versions (including one that has a goddamn black mask. Seriously? Every car has a black mask stage in it's production. If this is isn't bias, I don't know what it) and countless race versions of the thing in the game.

You said the computer systems are not present. I said that they are present in some cars.

If you're now asking "are the systems present with 100% accuracy?" my answer is of course "no". Nothing in the game is 100% accurate, that's impossible.

I have no idea if the GTR or 458 have their fancy electronics modeled in the game at all. As for the GTR being "given more love", I guess it's possible, but I don't really have any factual reason to believe that.

edit: as for your edit, yes there are probably more skylines than are "needed" in the game, but that doesn't mean they upped the performance.

There's a lot of paranoia about how Polyphony is conspiring to make Japanese cars look so much better than Corvettes, but this is really, really silly.

Yes, GT5 can approximately simulate the GT-R's handling. No, it isn't virtualizing the GT-R's computers, but that's not completely necessary.

Kaz likes the new Merc, he likes the Ford GT a lot (I believe he said it was his favorite car in GT4). The GT-R is simply a superior street car in many respects. Anyone looking at the way Ferrari is represented in GT5 can't say Polyphony doesn't love those cars. They are painstakingly represented in all their glory. If you want a pure car, the GT-R isn't for you, and that's also pretty easy to see by playing the GT5 representation of it.

Oh no I wasn't talking about Skylines, there are far too many of those as well. The GT-R ALONE has 4 road going versions. GT-R, Black Mask, SpecV, and Tokyo Motor Show Concept, and race versions such as the Motul, GT-R Lm Concept (forgetting the name, you win it as a B-spec prize) and some others. I think that the sheer volume of Nissan's glory car give away how much PD loves it.

Meanwhile my Mustang is left out of the party and horribly represented in the modern premium version :indiff:

You say that the GT-R is a fantastic car, and that Ferrari's are accurately modeled, but nothing to address the question of whether or not PD is biased towards it besides "Kaz liked other cars, too" (that were also over represented, thanks for the Ford GT Premium, Ford GT, and Ford GT with no stripe, guys)

it's true we're lacking some mustangs, especially "hot versions" of current model

the thing about having many many many (too many) GT-R of all generations and Miata's is about cooperation. Nissan loves the good publicity of having it's car in games adn thrives on the sporty image, for the young buyer. Most car manufacturer are more conservative (Toyota, Honda and even Mitsu). Anyway, that "Black Mask" GTR was one of the last (or the last) pre-production version. Most manufacturers just destroy those cars, they don't let computer programmers play with it. And that's why so many Nissans and Mazdas compared to other: availability. As you probably know, there's not much money involved with this, otherwise we'd be crawling under GM's car since that stupid give away...
 
R35 has 480hp and 1740 weight so heavy! better time! lol because power of TRANSMISSION SO FAST!

The claim Nissan rigged the test is definitely bogus due to the other tests the car has participated in. The GT-R is consistently extremely fast in all the tests if not the fastest production car.

There is also an independent lap time on Green Hell that comes pretty close to the 7.24.

I'm not arguing the validity of the GT-R's laptimes around the Nurburging. I used that point to show the tire difference between the GT-R and the other cars in the game. If it does a 7.24 with cut slicks (by the chief engineer's own admission), then it will go slower around any track with more conventional tires, simple as that.

This isn't about the GT-R. This is about PD's bias to the GT-R.
 
It is quite fast in real life, but on a high speed circuit with high amounts of directional change it would be much closer. The car is great exiting corners and maintain great grip mid corner. But I often find I have to brake sooner in the GTR versus other cars. I also find on left right left combination corners it struggles to change direction rapidly. In other words turn in. While I have to be VERY careful with the throttle in the LFA I can go through many corner combinations faster than in the GTR. But on corner exit you just floor it. Few cars can do this.

There are like 15 premium skylinesin this game. With that kind of money invested by nissan do you think they'd be cool with the skyline not being the best in the game? Sure, stock the car its fast, but who's to say the car will out perform all other cars in its respective leagues when these cars are modified and tuned beyond their stock trims? Huge balance issuer with this game- the car requires no tuning knowledge to do well beyond stock form, which labels the cars "cheese".
 
Computers drive the car... Ferraris are a lot more unforgiving, maybe a good driver in a F430 could beat a GT-R.

Oh it's impossible for anyone to "prove" anything, but I think that the idea that PD is biased to this car is backed up by sound reasoning and evidence.

Your argument: PD is accurately representing the GT-R
reason: The GT-R is also fast in real life
evidence: lap times

My counterpoint: The GT-R used cut slicks (the equivalent of sports tires in GT5) to achieve those times while most other cars use normal tires (GT5 equivalent of comfort tires). Since the laptimes for the GT-R and competeting supercars are similar when the GT-R is using cut slicks, and the competition are using road tires, it would stand to reason that the GT-R with standardized tires in GT5 would underperform, but in GT5 it hugs the road tighter than grandma.

Other parts of your argument: People who believe that the GT-R is inaccurately represented are silly, paranoid nutcases.

My counterpoint: Their worries are backed by the overwhelmingly large prescence of Nissan GT-R's and Skylines in GT5, PD and Kaz's potential bias towards a car that is from their own country, owned by Kaz, and has their fingerprints on the design. There are a million reasons why PD would favor this car.
