So like I'm having these really creepy dreams after playing Doom 3. Has anyone else? My gf woke me up one night and she told me I was kicking the sheets off the bed. She told me to quit playing after that but she aint the boss of me! I'm currently in the Delta Labs :scared:

Lol.
Nope, never had anything like that. The Delta Labs in the scariest part so good luck.

Know the feeling I6, for some reason I am extremely sensitive for FPS games like that. The last one I played was HL a lot of years ago and I gave up after about 15% completion. Could only play it during daytime and even still I slept bad at night and got nightmares.

I'm fine with scary movies, never feel bad after watching them, it must have to do with the possibility of interaction you get in a FPS or something.

I've gotten freaked out by the game at some points (like when there was the opened up human on the ceiling calling in hordes of creatures, or the spider-lady's room, or the time when all the lights shut off and the walls turned into like a stomach passage glowing/pulsing red. Other than those, I wasn't too scared at all, because the game got kind of monotonous now and then. Never did it cause a nightmare though.

I play with headphones with the volme cranked up in total darkness. I jump in my chair everytime a monster pops out and it just drives me insane. The sound of the shotgun is very safisfying especially after you pump some Imp ass with it. Everything else sounds weak. I cant wait for the double barrel in Resurrection of Evil.

Scary movies? Man I have trouble sleeping for nights after I watch a really scary movie. I had problems sleeping for months after watching The Exorcist. I only watched it once and will never watch it again.

Yeah, playing Doom 3 with headphones it awesome. All those creepy sounds around you but you can't see anyone. It's creepy.Once after playing for about 2 hours(late at night) i was afraid to go on.So the door opens and i enter the room and i stop at the entrance to see if anything is moving. After a while the door behind me closed and i literally jumped out of my chair. It was awesome.

The game sure has it's moments.

Before I play this game, I've two questions that HAS to be answered.
1.I'm a big fan of the Cyber-demon from the previous doom games and I want to know
if it's in Doom 3.
2. Is Baphomet (the gatekeeper, also from the classics) in the game?

Interesting. The exorcist gave me only slight problems. And there is on way in hell I would play a FPS like you do. (I'll never touch them again though as said)

So, it seems to be no link between movies and games here as one may excpect, could be a psychological phenomena for deeper research, something for my coming exam work mabye. Of course an example or two doesn't have to say anything but it's always a start for forming hypothesises.

1. Yes.
2. I'm not exactly sure what you mean? If you mean the Baron of Hell/Hell Knight yes its in the game but different to the classics (Whilst good, I prefer classic ones). If you mean the end baddie of Doom 2 no.

Yes, Baphomet is the DEMON IN the end battle on not only doom2, but Final Dom as well. He's the big face on the wall that says something in some kind of foreign language when you first see him.
If you guys like Doom 3 as well as other Doom classics, go to www.newdoom.com. Great site. I found out that a doom3 mod based on doom2 is in it's beginning stages. The monster renderings look very cool.

My friend recommended that I play Doom 3 with headphones and turn off the lights to get the "DOOM experience" and that bastard was right it worked. Once I started getting deeper into the game even picking up armor made a scary noise. Like **** every little damn noise became scarier.

I usually get bad dreams when I play violent video games late late at night. Man I had bad dreams after playing Halo late night haha.

He says "kill me if you want to win the game" (or along those lines) backwards.

oh man i have a sound system with about 5 speakers surrounding my room. when i got to the part where you can see the bloody footsteps walking. and i could hear the lady saying "follow me" at about 1230 at night. scared the holy
**** out of me. see its not the monsters or the loud noises that scare me. its creepy things like that, that send chills down my spine.

Halo made you jump? Yeah... I'd recommend staying as far from D3 as you can be.

I agree.

Halo 2 had parts where it was a little scary, (the 2nd time you play as the Elite in Campaign and with the Brutes, and your good comrades come) b/c of those damn Flood guys coming out of nowhere. But seriously, the Hellknight is the most badass creature. Maybe not the scariest, but still awesome...and big.
I'm also looking at The Suffering 2. Picks up where #1 left off. OK...maybe the day AFTER where 1st let off.

I don't mean scary as in "OMG WTF WAS THAT?!?! *****s pants*" more like things startle me. Like when it's dead silent and your turn a corner and there's two giant Covenant goons standing there shooting at you.

I'm absolutely afraif of spiders. These "things" are the only ones where I'm really scared.

Those shocking moments like gimps behind me e.g don't scare me. You haven't seen my neighnoors and former teachers :D

No comparison to those nice gimps etc.

You've got to be kidding me? Talk about hype, WTF?! Rise of the Triad is better than this ****... I laugh.

The last time i quit was in or before the monorail were a grate flys up from a quick explosoin right in front of you in the dead silence.

Man this seems like quite a scary game.

I love it! :D I need to get it. Scary games are great.

It truly is a great game. But you have to play it late at night with all of the lights off. It will scare the **** out of you at times. Made me jump out of my chair many, many times.
