It seems you can't create custom lobbies for public races in FM3.

Only GT5P style matchmaking or even less, or what?

WHAT THE HELL HAPPEND?

multiplayer is terrible you dont get to decide on anything unless its a private game.

and drag racing good idea but you failed.... drag racing is ment to be 1 Vs 1 not 4 Vs 4.... 4 cars at one side of the track and 4 at the other im sorry but its horrible.

last thing i want in a drag race is people behind me or infront of me... only person i want is the person next to me.

forza 2 multiplayer was so much better if you wanted to drift or drag you just set up a circuit race and you did whatever you wanted....

so far online i havent see anyone in the drift part of multiplayer

why did you have to take all our fun away and try to make all our decisions for us?

I just can't follow some decisions of Turn10.

And it won't change:
For all the guys who where unrealisticly optimistic, the answer is NO its not gonna happen. Its not in the game, end of story.

Nobody has said that this is definitely final, the game isn't even out yet.

I read this on the Forza 3 forums a few days ago and was quite surprised that they took a step backwards from Forza 2. It now means that if you want a custom race you will have to find other people who want to race from your friends list. It's a pain the ass for people who just want to find a random race with a specific criteria.

We'll just have to wait and see whether Turn 10 release any updates.

That doesn't make sense though, unless everyone on the forums has got everyone else on their friends list there is no way they can organise public races with each other and particular settings.

As long as I can find public races to hop into, and as long as I can create private custom matches, I am all set. That is what I did it with FM2.

I like the fact that they are having a dedicated server for public matchmaking with a bunch of different races and options to select from.

Too pad they dropped the custom public match making hosted rooms though :(

Maybe we need a thread with lists of people that are happy to be added for private Forza 3 games.

Yup...someone could make a GTPlanet silver account online, and then you could add that to your friends list. If you view the GTPlanet profile on your Xbox 360, and choose to view their friends, you can play and invite all the people on that friends list without having to add everyone to your own list.

No private lobbies? Dedicated servers? Same thing happen to LIVE WINDOWS gamging on PC.. and same with COD MW2... Microsoft is LAME with server setups.. bring back the good old DEDICATED and PRIVATE servers!

Hey all. Not sure what kind of an official response you're looking for.

With Forza 3, we decided to hit the reset button and go with a more inclusive multiplayer system of matchmaking and parties. The playlists that you see right now are obviously going to evolve, and fairly quickly at that. Keep in mind the game is just launching in Europe officially TODAY, and it's coming out in the U.S. next Tuesday. The current playlist on the servers is just there as a warm up to the things to come. Yes, I know not every race class is represented, and not every race mode and its variation is there, but there's a reason for this. Before the game has a chance to hit critical mass, we don't want to splinter off the community into too many multiplayer playlists.

If you want to create a custom game, then you can do so with our massive list of rules. After that, you can either find folks you meet in matchmaking and ask them to join your room (invite them from the players you just met list) or go to our new Car Meets forum (http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/124/ShowForum.aspx) and post that you're starting a game and the time, and get like-minded folks to join your room.

In the near future, I want to create an official hardcore FM.net community playlist entry that will put the majority of you into a game you want to play -- and we can keep it flexible and agile, so that it changes once every couple days.

I know change can make folks uncomfortable so this reaction is not unexpected, but we do feel strongly about including more Forza fans into the multiplayer fold this time around. Hope you guys understand.

Thanks.

They're aiming for more casual gamers and leaving the core people behind. :banghead:

So they will still accommodate the hardcore racers who want options but it's being done in a way so that it doesn't scare the new comers. I'm trying to think of it in a positive way. The more people that the play the game the bigger the community, the bigger the community the more people we have to race with.
