Fastest Time Of Day (FTOD) Bonus: +2p (Hot Lap Scenarios excluded)

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but theres a weeks reading to keep on top of whats going on!

I dont think this bonus should be included. A race is a race and a hotlap is a hotlap the two are different animals so why should one be worth more than the other?

Plus in a race ones fastest lap is most likely going to come from a clear track when the tyres are at their best. It therfore does not seem fair that Fred Bloggs winner of such a bonus merits extra points when his offline opponents in the same race because the game generates different AI never see a clear circuit or do so only when their tyres are nearly clapped out.

Dump the bonus please, lets keep it on a par as much as we can for everyone.

I agree with Bobkart, though id like to point out that 1 person isnt doing all verification of replays, at least thats what i thought.

So while it looks like its gonna take hours, when its split up its not gonna take hours.

I understand and think it's a very good idea...
but Mistral's point is not about a minute...u keep repeating it's only a minute...but u should see that it's not 1 minute, but it's 1 minute x every race to be checked....wich means about 130 minutes....
Yes, it's a minute or so, for each race verified. I'm sure eveyone realizes that. They're going to take many minutes each to verify, this adds another minute, I'm not disputing that. I'm saying we should do everything we can to verify these replays in a way that leaves no loopholes, even if it takes longer to do that.

If everyone was honest and trusted there would be little (no) problem, BUT going on previous challenges thats too good to be true.

Having no loopholes works both for those that want to detect the cheaters, AND those that are honest and want to be able to prove it. A loophole creates a situation where even the honest can be subjected to attacks on their credibility since there is nothing they can do to prove that they ran by the rules, as well as allow those who wish to ignore the rules to do so with no burden of proof on their part.

I would have expected Duke to have something to say about this by now . . . ?

Its the weekend. People have families. School is just about to start. Life goes on. He will reply.

After looking at the races the use of NOS will be a non-issue.

Race 4.7 in the GT mode Audi A4 will have 614 hp listed on the replay screen intro. If this was done in arcade mode the max HP would read as 545 hp.

Race 4.1 might be the RX-8 GT mode car which with full turbos would show 823 hp in the replay. The same car in arcade would show only 601 hp.

Race 4.2 is the Clio phase 2,adding the wings will clearly show its a GT mode car.

The rest are arcade races so all thats needed is for the weight to be set at -10% on all of those and its time to race.

That and lose the requirement of installing Nitrous Oxide on all GT Mode cars. Actually, disallow such installation unless allowed by the race specifications.

Agreed. Sorry to have been away yesterday afternoon but as NQ pointed out family duty calls.

Now that the race votes are in, I will remove the NOX rule for the reasons arrived at above. The extra time taken in replay verification is indeed spread around the entire Verification Board and those who find it necessary to verify things themselves. Only one reviewer will initially be assigned for each verification, but all will be open for anyone to volunteer to review.

I will also adjust the Arcade mode weights and specify the wing for the Clio Phase 2.

👍 sounds great Duke, But what are the rules for cobblestones and pavement etc? We arnt running Deep forest, grand valley or le sarthe so i dont think racing to gt.de rules will be a bad thing?

ditto ;)

GTRT is ready to host every replay after the race's deadline. :) The race selection will appear in the upload form the day after the race has ended (finish on Sept 12th, appear on Sept 13th). Car/Track combo is also pre-selected when you choose your race in the form. :)

Excellent! That will be a huge help to us. Otherwise I was going to provide a GMail account and publish the login information for all to share. But this sounds even better. Let us know where the upload link is when it's ready so I can publish it in the Rules.

Thanks again!
