Would anyone else like to see drag racing in GT4. So far it has not been mentioned but i believe it was almost included in GT2, remember those two black with psychedelic HKS cars? Would anyone else like to see this kind of action in GT4

I know i would because it is the perfect place for insanely tuned 1000+ BHP cars, among others. OK so we can already do 1/4 mile runs as machine tests but what about races. It was included on the original sega GT and to me was a highlight of of an otherwise poor game and was alot of fun in Need for speed underground (dont yell ''ricer!''). It would also be quite fun for online racing.

Yes I want drag racing, but nothing like NFS:U style.
 
Now that would be lot's of fun. I really wanted Drag Racing to be in Gran Turismo 3, but I had to stick with using the Test Course start line with a friend then waiting for the time to hit '20 seconds. It's so much fun.

This was in another topic about parking but look 'Power and Speed' we may have Drag Racing.
 
'Power & Speed' just sounds like a more complex 'Machine test' which may include a Dyno (hopes), 1/4 1000ms etc. Doesnt sound like a place for competition drag racing.

I disagree... I suspect that all in the top line are "races"...

All in the second line is about spending money...

All in the third line is the rest...

So on that theory... "Power & Speed" is gonna be a "race" then.

Only the license center isn't races, neither is the parking lot. So I think Power and speed will be the new machine test mode.
 
They promised drag racing for GT3, and all we got was the lousy 400m test.
I hope they put a real 1320 foot strip in there, with side-by-side split screen
for some cool multiplayer action.
Complete with bleach box and giant burnouts. YEAH!!!
Have a phackin' burnout contest with my friends!
That would be the first place I go to test and tune.

I hope they get the launching physics right this time - by rights my 876 hp R32 GT-R in GT3 should be doing 0:09.1xx instead of 0:09.395. :(

Wheelies whould be able to be done (just like the high powered-high grip cars in real life) in which case tyre pressures should be adjustable.

No, I wouldn't want drag racing in GT4 unless it was very realistic.
 
Imagin doing a wheelie in an 900hp R/T charger versus a 900hp Japanese pocket rocket EG:Skyline,Supra(pulls out fast and furious and goes to last drag)Evo etc.Now that would be cool!!!!Oh yea,i just pre-ordered Juiced and got a fre Demo!Don't call me a ricer either,I do not apreciate that sort off ****!
 
I respect drag racing, though I'm with road racing. Drag racing, to me, is a pure test of speed and power. I remember seeing John Force race his Mustang to NHRA titles (times have changed now, seems like. Come on man! You're the man! Get back into the game). Heck, I think the only year last year that he didn't win a title was in 1993. But, drag racing is great for testing for speed and acceleration. I think GT4 will try to put in as much as possible to make the joy of driving... joyful.

The licence center is a type of racing... it's where you do all the licence tests...

Parking lot isn't in the top row... you mean Safety Driving Park... Which I expect to be something similar to the Coffee Breaks in Prologue at the gymkhana with cones and maybe a skid pan...

Therefore I think Power & Speed will be a "Race Event"...

I think the GT Auto or Tuning Village will have the machine test in it. I mean by the sounds of things there is two different Tuning shops there?!

Hmm.. by the looks of things the do have drifting it says drift... oh and like u guys said Power and speed may be both Dino... and Drag hm.... Now that would be cool instead of them telling you how much hp u got u got to do a dino and see... and u can save the replay just if something crazy happens like it starts to burn out on the dino Hahahha :lol:

So you prefer just smash the gas and see who's car is faster? NFS:U has a great drag racing system. IT's about shift timing and it relys on the driver and the car and not just the car. NFS:U also forces manual shifting. What fun is it to just hold down the gas to the finish.
 
I hate it how NFS:U changes how the car drives (and how to drive it) depending on the type of race you do!!

In GT3 you still had to work out a good setup for great 1/4mile times (something you dont do in NFS), and still had to get the launch and get shifts right.
 
I think maybe he meant without pedestrian traffic and NOS...

The actual system itself worked pretty well with shift timing...

Although maybe proper steering would be needed in GT... not the change lane press stuff!!

Cos with Drag racing you still need to steer!!

I definetly remember it being mentioned pre-realese to GT3, and maybe GT2.
I think it would be good if it was included, even if it was just to improve gear shifts. I think manual change shoudl be enforced and maybe even a drop in the TCM so people have to work out whether to go full revs and spin the wheels, or low revs and less spin.
 
Heh of course no traffic :) I was thinking only the system its self. Drag racing was to be GT2 but that game was rushed and unfinished. Remember the HKS Drag cars and there was one more drag car when you R-Bodied it.
 
I think it was one of he fords and it was yellow,low as and had a huge bodykit and a wing bigger than the car.
