Ive searched and didnt notice a thread for drag strip 1/4 mile times? Anyone have a top time on the strip, since I dont have the game is it intially available from the start. If this was covered and I overlooked the thread feel free to beat me sensless

I sure hope the lap times are believable. In GT3, I had a 1080 plus Supra that did the QT in the late 10's. THAT **** SUCKED!!!

Are 1/4 mile times a close comparison to 0-400m times?

If so, name a car and I can tell you its 0-400m time. (as recorded by Asami Matsuo. I assume he works with PD)

The quater mile tomes (which is the 0-400m test) are pretty accurate. You prolly experienced mass wheelspin with your supra.

In that case, yes, name any one of the 704 cars listed here, and I can tell you its 0-400m time. (funny, though, is that list says 704 cars, but the list I have says 709 cars...)

Yeah I hope they fixed drag times in 4. In 3 a stock Supra TT wouldn't run any faster than 14.0 or so. Basically any FF or FR car would run way too slow in GT3.

Yep. I noticed that myself.

Yeah it coulda been wheelspin, or maybe you just don't know how to get off the line or shift efficiently.

In real life it should do a mid to high 13 seconds but the tires in GT3 don't hook up as hard as real tires do because you can't do a burnout to heat up your tires to make the stick or use traction compound or any of those things so the extra wheelspin costs a little bit. I think the actual acceleration time was almost perfect in GT3, I was able to make a cars of a certain weight and power/torque and they ran really close to real life times

If you're having problems with Drag times or 0-400m times, then buy a car like a Dodge with a lot of Torque and keep fiddling with different low gear ratios until you find a low enough gear ration to get enough top end and torque off the mark. Also, lower the ground clearance as much as possible and lower the Downforce as you please.

In GT3, i remember having a Suzuki Escudo Rally Car with 1881bhp and nearly 200 kilos per foot of torque. I done all what i have said and I acheived a 0-400m time in around 8.5seconds. Manual gear change also helps as you can change up or down to vary the torque and top end as you please. Also, use super soft racing tyres for more grip. Also, fiddle around with the torque balancing on a four wheel drive car to give it more go off the mark.

Have fun! :sly:

the absolute quickest 0-400m in GT3 I ever ran was in an F/094H, and it was an 8.1x, and that was only after about 4 hours of ratio tinkering.

I was a hairs with of getting into the 8's with a GT-R in GT3 which is realistic for a GT-R with 1000+hp and 1300kg. Its just the wheelspin that was unrealistic (ie the 1000hp supra getting wheelspin in 6th at 250kmph.

I myself have hit an 8.14 with the F094. Starting in second actually helps those cars, and gets them off the line so smoothly.

from what I heard drag racing will suck because the tire physics still suck. Oh well that's why we have TCS!

The supra have grip problems, even in real because it has alot of torque when its tuned (depends)

In gt3 i think its quite accurate, my best is about "0:10:500" and that is without dragtires whih GT3 dont have.

I dont know, but i think its should be faster anyway. Hope its better in GT4 :)

(my supraRZ have wheelspin all the time, even on Test course, 6th gear 350-400km/h and still making smoke, tho i have sim tyres, but its cool. almost impossible to control the car. (i have GT experience since 1997)

I was talking about stock cars, not tuned. The stock times for FF and FR cars are way off. Lemme go run some tests for some examples of how bad it is.

FF definitely have it the worst. :) The NSX seemed to be about right. It ran 13.3 and I'm pretty sure that's about right. I was pretty shocked by the Lancer Evo, I figured it would've been closer to the correct time since it's AWD.

Remember though, the temperature, surface, and tires are different from real life, so times will of course be off. Even more so because of the lack of turbo lag.

Why didn't they have the 1320 in GT3? No one runs a 400M in the US.

Also, the torque figures need to be in foot-pounds this time, as this is all the US uses as well.

with the Nismo Silvia 270R that i won, i put some NAAAWWWS on that sucker and got a lightning fast 14.2...sickkkk, wheel spin is a major issue with NAAAWWWSS, i mostly get 1.6-14.9 even with spraying

Why don't you leave off the NOS at the beginning?

Why don't you leave off the NOS at the beginning?

i do, i bust the NOS in 2nd through 4th gears, whenever i bust NOS in 1st gear, the tires just spin lilke crazy and i get like 15s.......the tires spin a little in 2nd while spraying but it's controllable

in real life, there ´re more factors that affect the time result, like wind, presure, temperature, grip, etc.... So some times may difer a bit..
