Im trying to take one of my LM cars to this event to get a fair and hopefully a good race but the Jaguar keep showing up, it seems like its there no matter what like the grid is fixed. Have anyone done this event where the Jaguar dont participate?
:ouch:

I use that event to grind for money in B Spec, and yes theres been a few times it didnt show up, but thats pretty rare. If I had to make up a number I'd say I have probably seen it 95% of the time.

The Jag is almost always there, and its disappointing that no other Group C car can replace it on the grid.

Thanks guess I have to enter/quit til I get it right then.. :|

Edit: Yeah it didnt show up now, first time lol

Are you talking about the Jaguar XJR-9 Race Car '88?
If so, you're ****ed :sly:

I bought that car in the UCD, it has about 1024hp, and is amazing in the corners.
For me it's one of the best (normal) cars I have in my garage 👍
Money well spent!

Yeah that car ruins the balance of that championship...otherwise it would've been a good series to take stock Super GT cars to...

I have Nissan R89C Race Car and I won every race of Dream Car Championship easily. And sometimes those LM Ford GTs and Zonda LM are better than XJR-9.

What car in your garage is not normal since you consider a Group C car to be normal ?

It may be just me but Group C cars are not what I would consider normal cars. I've seen them race irl & they're some of the meanest sounding race cars I've heard short of a funny car or top fuel dragster.

OP, you should have no problem winning the Dream Car championship with an LM car. I win that championship easily with any one of my many LM cars in my garage.

I did it half asleep with an X2010. But most race cars should suffice since the AI slows down so much and so early on corners.

I hate that Jaguar. It just ruins the balance of that championship, and I can't bring anything other than a dominating car to win in it with.

I've golded the entire event, but I keep going back with my Viper ACR and dueling it out with that Jaguar. Now that's racing. Every race is about as even as it can get. A ZR-1 RM will easily win the event, but matching the Jag step for step with a Viper in the Green Hell is heart pounding. Tokyo needs to be flawless, or you'll be left behind. Monza the Viper will get a 4 second lead on the Jag, but the Jag always catches up. Same with Sarthe. Teaches you to be patient. All you want to do is put the Jag in the sand, but if you miss, the Jag leaves you behind. Indy is all about blocking. Both cars perform almost exactly the same in Indy. If the Jag is in the pole, you're screwed. Start a different race.

Yeah, I have a total love/hate relationship with that Jaguar.

Got a good race with the RX7 LM race car (stock) with no XJR-9 Race car in the grid, and Im gonna take my Viper Teaom Oreaca #51 (not so stock) to see if it can match the Jaguar tomorrow. First time I did the championship I used my beloved Minolta with a high range turbo, 1040bhp ;)

Yeah the Jag never even got close to me. (I used the Toyota Minolta)

personaly I think the JAG sucks from GT4.... compared to its class

ive done the chapionship and all the races gold in the dream event except silver at the ring, that jag is a pain in the arse, i can keep ahead of it for two laps but it catches me for the third, i could race it fair and square but once past me i can no longer see the track for all the tire smoke comming off it, really annoying,

i have an fgt now but won't use that as it would be ashame to ruin a good fight,

Dream Car is my main A-Spec xp/cr grind simply because it has more xp/min then indy and slightly less cr/min than indy if you finish 1st in the first four races and skip nürburg 24h. Anyhow, I can say that from the 30-40 times I've done that championship I've faced the XJR-9 maybe 3 out of 5 times. Sometimes more often, sometimes not for 4 championships straight.

Edit: Oh yeah, and because the races are extreme less dull then just taking highspeed corners.

I just let Bob run my R89C Race car to make money while doing other stuff. He never loses and I don't have to watch him.

Unless you choose to overpower the Jaguar, you'll have to reset the series until it's no longer in the field. It's a bit of a chore, but the racing is a lot more fun without it running away from everyone.

Using a mostly stock NSX-R LM (oil-change and GT Auto wing), I had a pretty good time chasing down a pair of Ford GTs throughout the championship.

Good luck!

👍

If I remember rightly I used R10 and left the Jag behind. I took me half an hour of free runs to get the tune perfect though.

To be fair, and I shouldve said this in my first post, the Jaguar isnt actually as good as the GT Spec II Test Car or the Citroen GT Race Car. It usually finishes in 3rd or 4th in points behind them.

See I love how everyone says that we shouldn't enter with an overpowered car as it ruins GT5 but GT5 does it itself! There is always a second place car that pulls away from the pack, so GT5 does the same!

I won the Nurburgring 24HR event in Dreamcar with my TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM ... Beat that Jag by half a minute so it isnt that hard to beat the jag ... I need a rolling eyes smilie ...

What!?! The Jag always comes second unless it gets stuck behind someone else! So that sir is a load of bull ... The Jag is easily better than the Citroen and the Ford, it demolishes the Citroen and the Ford on a straight .... Le Sarthe has a big straight, Indy has big straights, Monza has big straights, Tokyo has big straight and Nurburgring has big straights ... Jaguar has to come second each time

Ive run it 4 times tonight, in the middle of a 5th run, and the highest it has placed in points is 3rd.

i did it yesterday with viper oreca, pretty easy, u just need to block him on big straights, won first 4 races, quited last, won cash and XP :)

today im gonna do it with zonda race car :)

Did you have any wet races? In can get stuck behoind in the wet, such as nurburgring in the wet, then it doesnt quite catch up, the Jag is easily better than the Ford & the Citroen. I'd happily race you in either of those cars with me in the Jag (when I eventually get one) and I can promise Id win (cars as standard like they are in the championship)

well i think its easy to win if it rains, cos u start on rain tires, and they start on hard and they pit after 1 lap, and u don't and u get 30s lead, and just maintain it, or increase it

Monza was wet 2/5 times, la Sarthe 1/5, I always skip nurburgring since it takes a year to finish. Just finished the 5th DCC and this was the results:

1 400 Sandy106
2 300 Zonda LM Race Car
3 220 Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II
4 180 XJR-9 LM Race Car

Every race was dry the 5th time

I tried doing this in the Xanavi Z (stock except soft racing tires). I kept reloading until I didn't see the Jaguar. It was still tough for me. I couldn't win the first race at Indy because my top speed was too low. Maybe some lower downforce settings would have helped here. I won the last 4 races, although I had to cheat and cut a few chicanes in Sarthe because of the time I was losing on the straights. :dunce:

Maybe a better driver then I would be able to beat the Jaguar, but it would be tough. Rain or shine the Jaguar always seems to dominate the competition. Last time I ran this championship I looked at the replay and the black Ford GT was running 1:32 on Tokyo (on racing Hard apparently). Next time I run it I'll check how fast the Jaguar runs it once it gets free of the field.

Edit: Ok I ran Tokyo again. I was pulling away from the Jaguar running 1:34s consistently. I used the black Ford GT this time. I think 1:32 with soft racing tires is probably possible, but that 1:32 with hard racing tires by the AI looks dubious. It's probably a rubberband effect thing seeing as last time the AI cars pitted because of their stupid tire change behavior and ended up 20+ seconds behind...

1st time i tried the a spec dream cup was in the Lambo Nomad, things were gold up until ring' in the wet, I did the first two laps without going off once and leading the race only to lose the lead on the last few turns before the straight, anyways I drove blindly down the straight through the water spray and ended up passing both the jag and the zonda lm at the last second and won the race 1st try! saved the replay too I was so proud of it
