Dream Car Championship

I couldn't begin to count how many times I've run that championship in A or B spec and that Jag is always there. Haven't run those races yet without it being in second place :sly:
 
I've never seen the JAG place lower than 2nd.. :s just saying
 
When I enter this championship and the Jaguar is in it, all I do is quit, and re-enter it, then it's gone.
I don't understand why the Jaguar is in it, as compared to the other LM cars, the Jaguar's horsepower is the same as its weight pretty much.
 
i had a race with the Jaguar in it (i didnt know it was there i somehow missed it) I was testing my ZR1 RM at the time for straightaway speed.. it demolished the Jaguar so bad that i didnt even realize the car was there until i checked the results
 
If you guys are struggling to win the Dream Car Championship in A-Spec, an FGT will murder the Jaguars and wipe all the other cars off the track. I use it every time and it works.
 
Sorry if I've missed it but can any remember how long it takes to complete the Dream Car Championship pls?

I'm running it right now, if Monza and la Sarthe are dry, and you skip Nurburgring its about 55 minutes.

If one or both of those is wet, its about 1:10.

This is in an X2010.

edit: In B Spec, theres less laps in A Spec, so it would be shorter.

I've noticed this (from A-spec rubber-band grinding). If the first race you do is Dream Car Championship (DCC) after booting up GT5, the XJR-9 is always 12th on the grid. If you don't want it in there, quit and restart a few times and a race will show up without it there.

If I recall correctly (it was a couple of months ago :sly:), I had the Jag starting in 2nd every race when I did the DCC. I used the Stealth Audi R10 Tdi and it made for a competitive series (well, not for the other AI cars). My best memory is sliding the R10 on the racing hards through all of the mid-track blind corners on Tokyo R246 to beat that Jag. That was a heap of fun. 👍

Ive run it 4 times tonight, in the middle of a 5th run, and the highest it has placed in points is 3rd.

The Jag doesn't seem to cope with rain very well I noticed. If you have rain on Monza, Sarthe and Nurb it may end third or fourth. On dry tracks: no chance in hell anything will pass it.
 
i got a Team Oreca Viper yesterday and took it to the dream car championship... got into a sweet 4 car brawl for the lead with the GT LMs and the Zonda.. including running 3 wide down the Mulsanne at 195.. if you got the right car... this race can be REALLY fun
 
Ya' know guys, this whole Jaguar debate makes me VERY nervous about doing this event for my first time next Monday. I've got to do it in my Minolta, that car annoys me, drive it for too long and it starts slipping and sliding.:nervous:

The Jag is a nuisance, but it will be easy with the Minolta. I would say the rain on Monza and Nordschleife is much more of a pain. If it rains, stick with racing softs... Don't bother with rain tyres.
 
The Ford GT Spec II (from GT4) is great for this race, making for a pretty close championship. I bought mine from the UCD to do the championship, only to find out that exact car was the prize for winning... Aw well, now I have two! :)
 
I've only done the Indy track (yeah, yeah), and it may be different when you start the whole championship, but for me the Jaguar doesn't show up in more than around 75% of starts (from even menu of course).

And in my experience, the Jag may not always place best in terms of result of the opposition, but it does drag the others to a higher level for sure.

I'm doing the Dream Car championship 5-6 times a week at least, now in a X2010, just for the money (I wanna collect every car in the game) and it takes me 30-35 minutes this way:

Indy: 5:30 minutes
Monza: 11-13 minutes (depending on the weather)
Tokyo: 10 minutes (I always make it a challenge to keep it under 10 minutes)
De La Sarthe: 7:30 minutes (same here, always try to kep it under 7:30)
And I skip the Nürburgring.

The X2010 has so much grip that I never switch tires when it rains. At Monza its the difference between 1:04:000 under dry circumstances and 1:09:000 in wet conditions.

It occured every now and then that the black Ford GT came in second instead of the XJR-9. It happens sometimes on Monza when it rains (it forces the AI to make a pitstop after lap 1) and Tokyo.

/edit: ah, I just realised you could've been talking about the event in B-Spec. In that case,nevermind :p

Did you have any wet races? In can get stuck behoind in the wet, such as nurburgring in the wet, then it doesnt quite catch up, the Jag is easily better than the Ford & the Citroen. I'd happily race you in either of those cars with me in the Jag (when I eventually get one) and I can promise Id win (cars as standard like they are in the championship)

I think the Jag is better as an A-spec racer, but B-spec the Ford wears it out. Bob was in an epic 3-way battle in the C9 against the Ford and the Jag at the 'Ring, and by the middle of the last lap, the Jag's tires were shot. The Jag jumps out in front early, but the Ford just reels it in. (no rain) So far, it seems to be about an even split for me whether the Ford or the Jag gets 2nd place.

I use that event to grind for money in B Spec, and yes theres been a few times it didnt show up, but thats pretty rare. If I had to make up a number I'd say I have probably seen it 95% of the time.

I Used the Dirt Trial Car Suzuki had no problem did 5 times an b spec with out paying attention
 
The Mazda furai kills in this championship both b spec and aspec. It even beats the jag on the 1st race by alot. the jag has it in the straight line but the furai makes so much time n the corners and being able to break later and less the jag cant handle it .

The same goes with the seasonal event that has been released since early March-the Jag is always in. The inclusion of the Jag is a typo because the Dream car championship is meant to consist of fictional cars created by PD-and the Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race car is not.
