What would be your dream life?

Mine would be living in a sizable loft in the mountains of New Hampshire with my girl. I'd have a Land Rover Range Rover and Caterham Super Seven CSR. (You'd want a CSR too if you've been on some of the roads up there.) I'd own a sports shop in Lincon or somewhere like that. I'd get my girlfriend a Honda S2000 or something like that. (I don't know what she likes in cars though. )

Guess some of you wouldn't really expect to hear that from me. :sly:

My life is the only life I know. Life doesn't revolve around petty dreams, it revolves around plans.

I'll sum it up easily.

~Live in Oahu a couple miles away from Waikiki.
~Have a decent size 2 story home w/ 3 car garage, private road, pool, and with a view to share with my love. ;)
~Own one of the world's largest collection of cars.
~Own and operate my own dealership.

Yeah........::)

Well, some of us don't really have much of a life. :sly:

Do you hate me or something? :scared:

No, I just thought it would be a good time for a little philosophical moment. Oh so weltschmerzy. :D

I'd love to be independently wealthy, preferably via lottery winnings. It wouldn't take too much - I could split a decent PowerBall with a few other winners and be perfectly content.

I'd build a relatively modest but highly custom house not too far from where I currently live. I'd buy and renovate a little building that currently sits on the main street of my town, and open my own architectural practice to keep my hand in without relying on the income.

I'd enter my kids in a certain private school not too far away; I'd have to drive them in myself in the mornings, so I'd have a reason to get out of bed. I'd probably enroll in a martial arts class (my kids are nearing black belt) to get some excercise and limber up a little.

I'd travel a lot during the summer and winter holidays with the family: rent a house here or there for a couple weeks; learn about a new place once or twice a year. I might buy a 30-foot sailboat to keep on the Chesapeake Bay; but I'd probably just rent one once or twice a summer.

I'd buy a Spec Miata racer and run the East Coast series after earning my competition license. I'd get my Pontiac restored and upgrade both of our daily drivers. I doubt I'd get too heavily into collecting, though I would play with whatever caught my eye strongly enough.

And that's about it! I think that level of activity, coupled with the income from my independent wealth, would pretty much equal a dream life for me. Plenty of time to read, play, and learn new stuff, while still doing something a bit productive.

My dream life would be me, Ash and the rest of the world!
Obviously a nice big house, not really that big and i can't have a big house without a big bank account, which would mean a big job. Which would mean probably a radio presenter (yes thats my dream job ;)).
I would have a Mclaren SLR and a Porsche Cayenne, a Mini (original obviously, not any of this BWM stuff). A Ferrari Enzo and a Landrover Discovery (an old one).
I would have 2 children. By accident, not planned.
I would have my own radio station called Posh FM.
I would also have an appartment in florida and go out there for my holidays every year.
I would be married to Ash.
I would have a swimming pool in my back garden, and in the conservatory (english weather, can never count on it).
I would have a home cinema with all the TV channels in the world.
I would have all the rock CDs in the universe.
I would have a theme park along with my swimming pool in the back yard, and it would have the highest rollercoaster and longest and fastest EVER!!!!
I would have a dog (a labrador).
I would obviously have a lifes supply of chocolate available to me all the time (mainly white chocolate on occasion some dark and milk and any other bloomin chocolate you can get).
Another car i would have is that Caparo T1.
I would have boat (a really big one).
Oh and a caravan (an orange one)!

Yeah i think thats enough dreaming for today.....

(Hope that's to your liking Duke)!

My dream world would have paragraph breaks and punctuation in it.

My dream life would be with my girlfriend, in a really nice, large modern house in the Canadian mountains, we can go out boarding everyday and then go into town every night because, we wont have any need to work thanks to a long lost bloodline that led to riches beyond my wildest dreams, muwahahahaha!

I've actuallt thought about a "dream life" very extensively. I've design a house, or arther a garage with a section labelled "house", a said garage, a private race track and all that good stuff.
I really don't give a crap about the house. It wouldn't be large at all. It'd be mostly bedrooms--three--a bunch of restrooms for when I have a bunch of people over, a nice modern kitchen, and a large living room with couches and chairs and TVs all over. Kind of like a sports bar. The bedrooms are for a couple close buds whom I'd share my wealth with.
My money would come from that Powerball I won at ~$300 million. I'd have cars all over the place, and I'd was them all by hand. That's the way it should be.

^That was the original dream, but lately I've moved away from the Enzos and Carrera GTs and Koenigseggs and Bugattis laying all over to a more conservative roster because aquiring those exotics would be impossible. I want a GT3 RS, like my 'tar. And a Solstice GXP, all tuned out. I wouldnt mind having some Japan-exlusive Type R or something. The only exotics I really desire is an F430 and a 599. I can imagine dealing with about 20 different cars.

I figuer since I wouldn't have to work I'd be really bored really quick, so I'd try and get every liscence I could. Pilot, boat, motorcylce (yeah, I'd have a few bikes too), CDL, whatever else there is.

I'd never fly to a vacation destination, unless it was oversea. Then I'd ship my cars there, like I would when I run the Gimball through Europe. What happens if you get ticket in a different country?

My dream life would be just how my life is now but without the worry that money brings, I'd like to be with the same people friends, close friends and family, well barring one member, that may sound harsh but the last time I spoke to him the converstion ended with a volly of death threats coming from both of us. I'm not the type to rise to that sort of thing but the phrase "we don't get on" just doesn't tell the half of it.

I dream of a Forum where everyone stops bickering over small punctuation and spelling errors. This isn't world peace, people. :indiff:

Win the lottery (this is a dream, after all).

Travel the world. See the sights, experience tons of new things.

A small bungalow on the beach in a small town, a large home in the middle of nowhere without mosquitoes and bugs, and a trendy spot in a bustling downtown. One of the two, at least.

Probably 5-10 cars and trucks. Nothing too crazy; I'll rent an exotic if desired, but I wouldn't really want to own more than one.

go to racing schools all over the world. Take up semi-professional racing. Start at the bottom, and work my way up (if I want to).

Buy myself a killer TV/audio/sim cockpit/PS-whatever setup for Gran Turismo for rainy days (although if I have the previous two scenarios, it probably won't be necssary).

Maybe dabble in learning/playing musical instruments, electronic, and otherwise.

Raise my two kids with my wife. And hire a gardener, maid, and chef.

If earn and/or luck into a fraction of this, I'll be happy.

Okay, how's this for dreams? Complete telekensis.

Controlling stuff, doing physical work, and controlling your complete physiology at will (like performing any kind of surgery on yourself) with your mind? I'll take it.

Am I the only one that actually mentioned having a job?
Nope. Even with unlimited funds, I'd still want something to do to keep me busy. Of course, I'd only work when I wanted to, which might only be one day a week :). Honestly, having nothing to do for the rest of my life would be massively boring.

As for my perfect life, I don't really know what it would entail, but there would be cars involved, that's for sure :)

And Omnis, telekineseis takes a LOT of kinetic effort. I tried it before, and it worked, but it was really, REALLY hard. I had to concentrate for hours, and really, is it worth it?

Except Id have girls too.
If this happens to either one of us, we're 'close buds' right? ;)

My dream life? Well...

I'd love to win the lottery, and move over to Carefree, AZ, and have a luxurious home on the side of one of the mountains. I'd have a Sport Coach RV, so I can travel nearly anywhere and make memories. I'd have a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, with a Corvette C6 convertible, and maybe one of those Mazda Formula racers, or whatever they're called, for the track.

I would go to Ohio State University, and become a veterinarian. I'd love to go to Australia, and Egypt, and all the sights of the world.

I would buy a second decent home, so I can get my grandpa-who-has-never-been-on-an-airplane out here, and so he could help us get rid of these idiot squirrels, and teach me to plant a garden.

I'd love to go over to one of the UK GTP meetings, race the people I talk to everyday in GT4, or GT5 if it's out, and have Famine give me a history lesson.

I would love to talk to Bill Gates, and President Bush, and have them any question about computers and the future of America and foreign affairs.

And finally, I want a duck. Preferably a mallard duck.

I'd like a house in the city, probably New York or Boston, and a nice waterfront in New England somewhere (or maybe the Chesapeake Bay). Perhaps a place abroad as well, though I can't see myself utilizing it enough to actually warrent a purchase.

I'd like to have a Porsche or two, and a couple BMWs. Add Duke's Miata and I'm set.

I'd buy a yacht and a couple of jet skis, and some kind of smaller boat to ski off of.

I'd love to turn a house into some kind of recording studio somewhere along the east coast (Virginia, maybe), away from everything, that I (and possibly a band) could stay at for periods of time and record.

I'd like to play gigs with said band - file this under 'job'. I'd definitely like to be able to work on improving my homes and land, and hopefully this would keep me busy.

Travelling would be a big priority - I want to do a tour of Europe sometime, maybe check out Australia too.

Hopefully I could find and marry my perfect mate, whoever that may be - it is a dream life!

And I'd throw parties and gatherings regularly so my family and friends could enjoy it too.

I don't require much, and at the moment my "dream life" is pretty much finishing up school and settling down with Mrs. Right in a humble house or apartment (I'm going to school to be a teacher, so I don't plan on being rich when I grow up), but if I had unlimited funds, this is what I'd do.

Instead of working, I would invest wisely and let my money make money, and sit on a healthy nest egg in case my investments go wrong.

I would drive a dark blue BMW M5, which has been my dream car ever since I can remember.

My house would be located in the Vermont countryside, which is still my favorite area in the entire United States. It wouldn't be a huge house, but it'd be a nice two story place with 4 bedrooms (master bedroom, two rooms for the kids, and a guest room for visitors).

I would have enough free time in the winter to ski at will.

I would have enough free time in the summer to hike/kayak/disc golf/golf/rock climb at will.

I would have a beautiful (educated) wife and 2 children.

I wouldn't have my kids until I was 30, but I would marry at 22 and enjoy the DINK (double income, no kids) life for a while.

I would have a place on the beach in North Carolina where I could keep a nice boat for fishing/waterskiing/wakeboarding purposes.

I would take an entire year off and travel the world with my family.

Even though they'll retire happy and wealthy without my help, I would buy my parents either a nice home or vacation home, and buy my dad another classic car to add to his collection. After what they've done for me, it's the least I can do. But they'd be happy enough just to see me become successful.

It's called "Dream Life" for a reason, 12 year old.

By the way, you need to practice the quote button.

My dream life:
-A nice windfall. Be it half a powerball, or some long lost relative. Enough to not worry about money.
-A house a few kliks from where I am now, new and modern inside but with a timeless look outside, with lush landscaping around. A smaller garage (4 cars plus workshop) at home, with a hangar at the airport for the remainder of my collection (Mainly classic cars, and fun newer cars. No exotics.) and my P51.
-A midsize boat (I dunno, mabye 50 or 60 feet) at the local marina.
-A girlfriend or wife, either/or. No kids until at least thirty, ideally being one boy to carry on the family name.
-Connections around the world for places to stay and things to do.
-Take up guitar and/or saxophone, have a classic rock collection rivalling many radio stations', and a couple friends to play with.
-Join city council, and have some input over local descisions.

Oh, and a nice twisty road with no traffic and no police.

Small, modern house. Smooth white walls, lots of wood, aluminum, and glass. Open, airy, use natural sunlight as much as possible. Not sure where I’d put it, but somewhere in California, Australia, or New Zealand. Garden filled with native plants and ground cover (I’m not big on grass). Minimal amount of furniture, electronics, and appliances – just exactly what I need (no landlines, just two cell phones). Three cars: one commuter for my wife, one commuter for me, and a sports coupe or roadster.

Mrs. Perfect, zero or one child (if one, then adopted – too many orphaned children in this world), one cat or three rats or two small dogs.

Job: working for a biotech firm (Genentech, maybe?) in a higher-up position that allows me a big say in R&D. Would work because I want to, not because I need to. Maybe do some design work on the side (contractual). I would be able to travel abroad at least once a year, though making many smaller trips throughout the year.
