After doing few full thick drifting laps of tsukuba, I was not even half to three quarters of the points the top guys were on but I was hitting every drift bang on!,

Plus everyone was using some random old v8 car on the rankings,..

whats the point in having a drift leader board. shouldn't it be judged by battles than cheating to get the most drift points?

You do know you can watch their replays? If they have saved them of course. How do you know they are cheating? And how are they?

Drift battles would be good though.

Theres a guy here who got 8 then 9 dont know where he ranks now, but hes got a video of him doing it with a wheel and he does not cheat.

Yeah, someone being better than you is not a sign of cheating. It's a sign of someone being better than you.

Cheating? I don't see any cheating on the leaderboards. Unless you mean choosing a car that everyone can get and using that is cheating.

Go to practice, turn on the racing line, memorize it and drift that, that's where the points are. The closer you are to the line the more points, hold a 45 degree angle and carry as much speed as you can while doing so, that's what gives the max points.

I agree the points don't mean much in terms of real drifting scoring, but it's still just another form of challenge of precision. Don't take it to seriously and just have fun with it.

I don't see how you'd have battles and judging when theres thousands of people on at various hours constantly all over the world.

I'm kinda hoping that they are using data from the drift challenge to update the scoring system when the real leaderboards come out (If ever) so you didn't have to drift along a computed line, but allow for personal style but I'm not holding my breath.

The driving lines are vital in drifting. Even if you drift perfectly, there still is a better line that gives that much more points. How to find that line, I don't know.. :dopey: Just try to get the front end tires to stay as near the inner corners as possible. I'm sure someone else can give even better advice.

Just keep trying to get higher points each section, when you go higher drive the race to the end and save and watch your replay, analyze everything.

There's a white line marking each section, notice where your wheels were, speed, angle and where you initiated from, notice the slope of your drift, your throttle control, steering inputs etc.. keep doing that and you slowly max out the points for all sections, then once in a while you get a nice surprise, one of the corners you get even more points, more than you thought possible, back to analyzing what you did, rinse repeat.
