Hey drifters.

Here is what's going to happen.

All drift teams will be moved out of the GT3 Drift forum and moved to the "Teams Forum." For the next couple of weeks, I will move your threads and leave a redirect here in the GT3 Drift forum. After a few weeks have past and most everyone is familiar with where the Teams Forum is, I will then move all teams threads there permanently.

I will also create a sticky "READ THIS: thread entitled "GT3 Drift Teams" and in that thread will be posted a link to the "Teams Forum." That way the GT3 Drifting traffic can easily find that area.

The reason for this is to get the Drift forum more organized. If the teams and members have any questions, comments or concerns, please discuss. I want this transition to go as smooth as possible for everyone involved.

Thanks,

Boom

I will disagree for thise reason. Before this "cleanup" we had everything right here. Now all of the info relevent to drifting is being spread out through this massive forum. It's more convinient for all of us, to have all our info right in one spot. If it's related to drifting (or at least GT3 drifting), keep it here. Plain and simple.

Also, why do our team have to be moved to some dark corner of the forum? No one goes there. The LEAST you could do for us is add a drift team forum at the top of the GT3 Drifting forum page.

I agree for the most part. Its not like its croweding the forums. And lets be honest, the only two teams that are really doing anything is Project D and Monkey D. Only two forums, the rest are just kind of off-brand teams. (No offense to the memebers, its only because they just got started and havent done much). Everything seems to be fine in my opinion, I mean this forum is my homepage, and its worked for how ever long. Its still related to GT3 drifting, so I think it should stay where its at.

The purpose is not to stick your teams in a distant forum, but to get them into a forum designed for teams.

Would any of you anticipate an increase in "Drift Teams" once GT4 is released?

Probabaly, so add it later when GT4 comes out. :D :D Whatever, though, you're the mod. I do as I am told.

Boom, I know you're trying to clean up the foruma nd all but half of this isn't neccessary. You're going overboard with details. Focus on real problems like threads that are completely off topic and have no place whatsoever in a drifting forum. Not moving things because they don't fit your strict definition of "GT3 Drifting". It's getting to the point where you're going overboard. We get some more traffic here and all the sudden it's a problem. So it's popular... SO WHAT.

It's not a problem that we have more "traffic" or members in the drift forum. The problem is that since there is more traffic, and that means more and more threads that you have to wade through while some of them could be better served in a differnt and more usefull forum. If some of these issues are not dealt with now it will only continue to get worse for everyone involved. I'm just trying to anticipate your needs.

And when GT4 is released, I'm really anticipating a large influx of new teams and new members here that are interested in drifting. I'm also anticipating a large influx of non-drift teams. I highly doubt that the Teams forum will be as dead as it is now.

Just stop and think for one moment about how you will navigate through all the treads in the GT3 Drift forum when there are 2, 3, 4, 10 times as many new threads being started as there are now.

I don't feel like playing catch up after it happens. I want to try to be ready before it happens.

if u are gonna move it can u put my manga threads with monkey d's team thread or forum

No, not yet they aren't. But there will be more of them and you already admitted that.

It's all the other dumbass posts that we'll get, and you can't prevent that.

No, you're right. I can't prevent that from happening. But, I can, along with your help, make a good solid effort in maintaing a clean, on-topic forum for all of you here.

I still think its a bad idea.. people gotta switch over to the "Teams Thread" while after posting in it, they have to go back to "GT3 Drifting Thread".. why don't you just pin up the teams to the top? it would be much easier.. but that's my idea.. do as you wish..

Yeah, man. I'm with you. That will help to avoid (a little) useless threads.
And this will improve the GT3 drifting section (IMO)

The helpful Boombexus:tup:.

A uselss thread, such as someone talking about R/C cars cannot not be prevented. Even if you knew it was going to be posted ahead of time and prevented the post from even happening, that would be unconstitutional.
In order to to keep this place clean you'll just have to do your job and enforce the rules better. Make sure the n00bs now what's up.
What you can do now is sticky the Project D and Monkey D threads like Suprafly said and when GT4 comes around give Drift Teams their own forum.

Where did that come from?!?!?!
Boombexus' idea is way better then stickying just a couple of threads. That way, all those little groups get recognized in the forum as well. Think about it, if there are only 2 drift teams, what are the competitions going to be like? Team 1 vrs. Team 2.

Ah..mmmm..that was my fault. Useless wasn't the right word.
But I like the idea of doing a branch of the GT3 drifting forum:

Gran Turismo 3
.....|
.....|------>GT3 drifting
......................|
......................|--------------> Drift Teams forum.

:)
