Drift Trial #35. Deep Forest and Laguna Seca

Deep Forest using the Mitsubishi Lancer and Laguna Seca using any car you wish.

For Deep Forest, I'm using the 07 Evo Premium and broke the 10K mark with it. I haven't done much with setup, just a basic drift setup. With some work, I may be able to break 14K, but I doubt I'll get much more than that.

For Laguna Seca, I used the SL600, golded it, but not getting as much as I can. Funny thing is that I was using the SL600 in a drift room on Laguna Seca on Tuesday night and then they use it in the DT! I can't say I was happy with that track choice, especially the sections we have to do the DT on. The corkskrew... :nervous:
 
I got 15660 on Deep forest. Must work bit setup and tomorrow gonna try other Mitsu. I put my drift tools on share tonight 👍
And Laguna Seca just couple shots bit over 10k with TVR12
 
I'm having trouble with Sector 2 on Laguna Seca. Sector 2 on Deep Forest as well. They are both keeping me from getting better scores.

Laguna Seca Sector 2 - The curve is downhill, so if I go to slow, I go off on the inside of the turn. Too fast and I (whilst getting a great score...2800 - 3000) go off right before the line on the outside. If I hit it at a decent speed, I don't get a good score (1500 - 1800 only).

Deep Forest Sector 2 - The short turns with a fairly long lead in are always a bane to my existence. I was starting to figure this one out last night though. I started drifting the turn prior to the sector, treating it like an "S" and it started paying off with 2k scores.

I'm most comfortable drifting "S" turns and hairpins. Everything else is hit and miss.

BTW, I am doing the E-Brake entry on both sector 1's and it's helping a lot. Finally starting to get it! :dopey:
 
An AWD in the drift seasonals, the hardcore drifters are gonna cry... :) Can't wait to try these out tomorrow...
 
I've only done the Deep Forest one yet. Scored ~14K. Plenty of room to improve.. Picked the first car I could find for one.

Scored 9,5K on Laguna Seca the last time. Lets see how we do now.. Previous rank 1 was 11.535 by the way.
 
It was funny cuz when I noticed that laguna seca was one of the drift tracks the first thought to enter my mind was "oh I hope it's not the corkscrew part..." and sighed out loud when I noticed it was. Seriously, would anyone ever drift that corner in real life?

I don't get this at all, I drift RWD because I like it and it's easier! AWD drifting is damn impossible!!! I battled with the first challenge, AWD is way hard... Maybe it's cos I am so used to RWD drifting...

I nailed the 2nd trial 1st time... :D

I snuck in a couple of goes on Deep Forest earlier but wasn't liking my first go at tuning an Evo.

I share it tomorrow..it isn't best one but enought for top 10 I think :)
 
setting the torque distributor to 10-90 did the trick for me
went from 3000 to 9000 just by changing that

Nice to hear...next trick is put front LSD 5/5/5 and rear 36/48/30.... I can tell more later today ( Been busy yesterday)

Im now on 16638 pts with that 👍

I think I'm going to stick with my top score of 13,xxx on Deep Forest (333rd at the time) on my gtp_cc666 account.

I think I got a little over 8k on the Laguna Seca, but I hate that thing so bad, I just can't see myself trying to get a better score on it. LOL I'm just too inconsistant. I go from 4K to 6k the majority of the time. At least with Deep Forest, I'm consistantly over 11k.

I was in a drift room yesterday and they were doing donuts around cars, so I'm going to practice that tonight. They said it helps in learning to be more consistant at drifts. They were all really good, so I trust them. I think they may have thought I was worse than I actually am. I was practicing using higher gears/e-brake and not doing a good job of it. :ouch:

Tried Laguna Seca again last night after "control practice" on Monday night. I was much more consistant getting in the 7K's the majority of the time. Got a new high of 8500 even! I stopped trying to finesse the 2 corners after the corkscrew and that helped A LOT! I got the 8500 with the SL600, so I'll try tonight with the Speed 12.
 
can anyone help me?
i saw this event this morning and i am in the evo 6 scp but im finding it really hard to bronze both tracks, i tried changing the lsd and the torque, i even added ballast like i read on this thread but it doesnt seem to be working for me.

You using manual or auto gears?
If auto then I can't help..But send fr to urabus098 mine drift tool is on share feel free to try it :)
 
i am using manual shifting but i think im trying to drift like i used to on forza and grid, thanks for the help :)

Okok just start drifting before sector and use enought big gears,In deepforest
1st corner speed abt 100km\h (3rd gear) and hit bit E brake before sector then immediately shift to 4th and when you hit rev limit then 5th.

2nd Corner no need E brake just slide it like S turn Start with 4th gear and end 5th or 6th.

3rd Corner start with 3rd gear and do "scandinavian flick" before sector, and end with 4th or 5th gear

4th Corner no need E brake just go with 3rd gear and hit full gas before sector and immediately 4th and 5th..End with 6th

5th Corner just go 4th gear abt 100 km\h and again remember just get your car sideways before sector ( I dont use E brake either in this one ) but you need speed for this corner so be sure you can put 6th gear almost immediately on 👍

im gonna try gold them in a minute, just doing the 500pp race around trial mountain then ill have another go at them
