can u drift with the cars that already in arcade mode? im completely new to GT4 and was wondering if i can start drifting right off the bat w/ the cars already available in arcade mode.

also i have a driving force pro wheel, is there any settings i need to en/disable for drifting? (ie. steering, 900, etc)

i hope to drift w/ a s2000 when i put some time into GT mode thx :)

yes it is possible to drift in arcade mode, you may need to play gt mode for a while to unlock cars and tracks.

just make sure you have asm and tcs off.

we drift stock cars on Xlink all day. we use N2(comforts) and they work great.
i use all kinds of cars too.
so yea it is possible. turn all aids off. remember, aids are bad!

its pretty fun. a lot of cars drift nicely in arcade mode. you can add some power and subtract weight too. i went on an arrcade binge a while ago.

Some of my best drifts in arcade mode in my fav XLink car, my white WRX.

To be honest, my very best drifts come from my time practicing for Xlink in time trials with stock cars. It's good fun and a VERY important lesson, I feel, to learn the balance of an untuned vehicle.

N2 Confort tires is very good for all cars.
Yup. 👍

Or sports Hard for higher powered vehicles.

sometimes funner to drift in arcade mode(actually havings aids on makes it harder to drift) because you can invite people over and then have drift competitions...
which is pretty sweet if you dont have the money to play initial D ver.3 or buy an actual car, etc etc.

I just use Road ties and most any FR car drifts fine. Lots of inertia drifting, though. Sometimes it can be hard to keep your speed through the turn, so it's mostly speed drifting that's easy to do. I hope I just said "speed drifting" without closing the thread.

Damn I'm getting really pissed of...
With ths DS2 I drift all the way and I'm allways getting pictures :) ....but with the DFP I just can't do a decent drift!!!In a track that for example has 13 curves, in 10 of them I'm eating grass..I've tried everything, like active steering off/on, power steering off/on, turning faster, turning faster, FF mild and strong...looks like DFP it's gona take dust when it comes to drift :yuck: :yuck: :yuck:

let me ask you this, when did you start using dfp?
because if you just went out and bought it thinking you were gunna be a badarse right off the bat, you are a fool.
with everything, YOU NEED PRATICE!
thats all you can do. pratice pratice pratice.
i cant stress this enough. you can never have enough pratice!

I bought the wheel on 9thMarch, when gt4 came out...since then I've been practicing!!Or trying to...
And btw when I got DFP I already knew that is wasn't going to be that easy to get used to!

YES! YOU MUST PRATICE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! PRATICE!

Er....what exactly is Pratice, anyway? I know PRACTICING helps, but what's Pratice?
