Just want to know how many drifter here can do a decent drifting without having the car tuned with both same tires F/R, and not using handbrake?

I can!!! I never tune the suspension (i drop ride hight, but thats only for aesthetics) and i only use the handbrake if it's a really tight hairpin. I have video footage but it was recorded with my iPod so the quality is 🤬

I agree with Bigs... sometimes its useful if you're doing a feint and speedchecking to hit the ebrake and flip around the direction you need. Other times your tires are still hot so all you need to do is mash the gas and power over.

Its all situational though. Different techniques are better for certain corners and speeds.

If you slam the handbrake and know how to use it you can hold the car sidewards halfway down the straight before the corner and get away with it which requires good timing, but is fun to do. I can also drift no problem without the E-brake.

I rarely use it because I don't like the feel of it (it almost always end with a spin out when I do), but I'm training.
Also I don't like the place of the button on the G27 for the Ebrake, not really practical.

yup i know e brake is used a lot by pro drifter also. but to initial an untuned car to drift by using e-brake is much easier than other techniques. And it seems that in GT5 alot of drifters using e-brake comparing to GT3 where more drifter drift by using feint.

can't even reach my handbrake when my g25 shifter is mounted right beside my wheel on my desk......

i handbrake all the time now after i got my obutto cockpit.....that O button is perfectly within my reach now

OP just watch the 1 hour long Drift Bible on youtube and you'll see e-brake have it's own purpose in drifting

One thing you forgot to mention is that in the drift bible it's known as a beginners technique. Yeah, yeah i have heard the argument that RL drifters HAVE to use it to drift, blah, blah, blah... but in this game it is not needed. My advice to you is to learn drifting without it, you will be much better for it trust me.

And as to the OP,

I use the default setting for the LSD unless the car is having trouble then I make adjustments according to the way it reacts in a drift.

Camber is a tool used to get either the front or rear to "give/slide" more than normal. For cars like the VW Karman Ghia for instance full camber is required to get it to drift well. But a heavy car like the Dodge Charger doesn't need camber or very little to the front. But of course this also depends on the tires your using. The gripper the tires the more camber you will need to get the car to react the way you want it to.

I only use the e-brake if I mess up my initiation or to make emergency corrections of understeer. 99% of the time it's feint, braking or power over initiations using my g25. I almost never change the suspension settings besides lowering ride height. Once in a while I will add some negative camber. Comfort hard are my preference for drifting.

Anyone who actually understands drifting should be able to drift just fine in a bone stock car. They probably won't be linking entire tracks, but they should still be able to make a decent showing.

Handbrake very much boils down to personal preference. I don't like using it in general (and it's awkward for me to use on my DFGT, so that works out :P), but some people use it all the time. I'll tap it occasionally for a little clutch kick, but that's usually to correct a poor entry.

I use a controller (just saying it now). And I use it for more crazy angle/distance entries and sometimes to correct. I most use the brakes to correct anything else. And I drifted the stock sileighty for awhile.

I can do this, although I don't think its possible to do in a FF car, Its real easy if you use a high power car with trash tyres, I tried with my modded Zonda R, its nearly impossible to control :scared:

To me e-brake is just a way to start the drift way before the corner (not to initiate but just to help keeping the same line once the car is sideways). Tho I'm not using it alot in GT coz I don't like where the button is placed (shifter is at the same level as my wheel).

Well Said...
