Drifting/Drafting

When ur drifting on races can u draft while drifting because I was drifting behind this car like 13ft. away and I gas it all the way and i catch up fast and after i spun out. I dont really know if this works but i saw this video on pergatory's site where he was driving a rx7 and he catch up to that r390 car really fast and he pass him and burnt his ASS and he won , that was really tite. Do u guys think it works for drifting too or just for grip racing?

drafting is like a vacum where u postion ur car in the back on to another to gain speed( sorri didn't read the post)

The draft is when the car in front breaks a wall of air, and you are in the pocket of air that is "gone" so, you have less resistance against your car, so us "grippers" prolly get more of a draft, go to the test course with the indy cars, and drive up behind one of them, then pull out and watch the mph drop :)

i know wat drafting is but the front car is blocking the air in my side of the car while im drifting so do u think it will draft or not. I dont know if the car is just slow on the front or i have to many hp because i was going 70+ then i touch his bumper and i spun out. Try drifting in beginner league on the first 3 categories thats where i drifted my 86. You could try and tell me if it works or not then ill shut up :)

I sincerely hope that your spelling and grammar are not due to age. My 10 year old nephew can type better than you have.

What this means, is from here forward you will make a concerted effort to improve your ability to communicate on these boards.

That also applies to you, Toyotadrifter.

I've made a very strong effort to help the GTP driftering forum clean up and work towards becoming one of the best GT3 drifting forums on the web. Yet the influx of lazy people continues to undermine the attempts be all of us. We've lost a handful of excellent mentors, and advisors due to members unintelligent babble.

And now back to topic.

Drifting can certainly take advantage of drafting. Aerodynamics show that with less air load on your car, the faster it moves. This also means there's less downforce on your tires. Less downforce=less traction. That's why I've always wanted to see a double drift. Except the person in front is simply staying in front to act only as a camera man. THe replay could then be shown from that vantage point.

Does it? Twin drifting goes like around 60-70 depends on the skill of the drivers, but watching a twin drift is still cool.

that is totally off-topic.i dont know if you can draft while drifting but it could be possible if your car is right behind another car.
