Hello all! Long time lurker, first time poster. :D

I have been into GT since the very beginning of the original one, and have continued playing it ever since.

I started building Hybrids with GT2 & the GSPro back in the day. I am now getting really into learning drifting. It is taking time, but I am getting the hang of it. :)

I was wondering if any of you make Hybrids specifically for drifting? If not, what parts would you use to make a "Super Drifter"? I know that with drifting you do not need a ton of HP, and it is skill more than power.

I know that some of you on here don't really like Hybrids, so sorry. ;) Don't worry though, I am not into making a car with 4000 HP or anything like that. I am into very driveable, very realistic Hybrids.

For example, my current car that I am trying to perfect is a Miata LS with RX-8 Brakes, better weight reduction, and a Stage-3 Turbo & Racing Intercooler off of an RX-7, GT-R V-Spec Super-Softs, and everything else is the maxed stuff that I could normally buy. It has 400HP, and man is it a Rocket!!

Also, how much does Downforce hurt drifting? (Some of my favorite Hybrids have the DF maxed out for driveability.) If I were to put Simulation Tires on, and change the Suspension settings, could I make this car driftable? I have not tried it yet, because when I make the Hybrids I put upgraded Tires from different vehicles on them, and once I change them, I will not be able to get them again with recreating the Hybrid.

Sorry to be long-winded, just curious as to what you guys think! Also, keep up the excellent work, I have learned a TON from you guys, and I have been playing for over 4 years!!

Thanks!

Drifting lies in your skills. I can drift the spoon race car easy. Anyways, all the ton of HP does, is just give your power over steering. you could do that easy by lowering traction control.
The best thing that i would suggest for drifting is either front wheele drive and keep the emergency break locked up, or have rear wheele drive, harness the power of power oversteering and breaks, or as i started, that good ol' power slide with 4wd.

How much does the DF come into play? That is my biggest concern... I mean it is completely maxed out, 0's on 292 & 296 in the INI when I created the Hybrid.

i guess if your going realistically go with 1.00 in front and 1.25 in the rear, thats what most of the gt3 race cars max out at, but may i suggest

trial and error! :D

For a FR drift hybrid:
-Least amount of downforce, as downforce just keeps the car from sliding.

-1 to 2 times more camber in the front than the back.

-HP to match tires chosen: Stock-300 range-sims
350-550 range-normals or sports
600-and on is kind of subjective.

-Set the brakes to oversteer, this is also somewhat subjective.

-That's basically it, There is more but these are the basics that make a car drift in a controlled fashion. If you have anymore questions feel free to pm me, because I have made quite a few of these mildbrid drifters.;)
