drifting in 2 player

hey has anyone tried driftind in 2 player before? cos i tried, and for some reason the car won't get sideways, i dunno how TRi did it...anyway, does anyone kno if its possible to drift in two player??

 subie power: it doesn't matter just leave everything on and you'll basically be using you settings... I don't even think it asks you if you load your memory card... I'll check it out later... - make sure if your doing grip races... put the best kind of racing tires on the car your using in gran turismo mode before the race... My friends and I noticed that it adds grip if you do :sly:

Big Fat Greek: yes... I am able to drift in 2 player .... you might want to go into your driving aids and to the understeer option.. turn that half way up... it will help you steer into the inside of the turn allowing your rear end to go out and your front end to go in.... :sly:

if those don't help you i might be able to explain them better later but im rushing right now.. lol

yeh i did everything u said, what happens is when i go into a drift it grips for some reason, and understeers, its like the tractions off, but when u go around corners, it grips
really, really weird

right what i sugest you drift with in 2 player mode are the d1gp cars all aids turned off n2 tires all round as the d1gp cars suspension is already set up for drifting so you dont need to load any settings files 👍 👍

can you refrase that I don't know what yoiur trying to say... lol
are you saying the ront grips and the rear does... + plus when you drift your supposed to have TCS off.... go check out my drift settings in the depot its for a 1800k's s13 :sly:

not necessarilly with asm (understeer) turned up a little... it will actually help you turn into the inside of the turn and make it easier to initiate the drift

no it isn't.... if its in the game and you figure out a way it isnt... it kinda means your a good tuner

👎 Your letting the computer enduce the oversteer, instead of you actually doing it. It fortifies weak techniques. If you HAVE to use ASM Understeer to initiate/maintain/exit your drift, you more than likely have poor weight shifting techniques. I don't see it as being a good tuner at all, more like helping out a power-over jockey. I see it as being too lazy to properly tune suspension/learn to drift.

Hey whats up. Just wanted to say that 2 player mode 'drifting' is AWESOME. Me and my friends have set-up a tournament between all of us. It's pretty sweet except that only 2 of us have the DFP. Lol. Which means I learn to drift with a controller at home. I am getting pretty good. Some adjustments in entering a drift and keeping the drift and I will be set for some good drifting fun. Right now our tourny's are more for fun until we make it official this summer and have payed drift races. Something like $.50-2.00 per car. We haven't decided about how the money races will work but so far we have it at $1 an entry to a tourny, and everytime you face someone new its another $.50. So if I'm (a) and I face (b) and win I move onto the winner of (c) and (d). When my race against that winner comes up I add another $.50 to the pot. Oh yeah only 1 lap races (so we gotta be ready) and if more laps are needed an additional $.75 from each player will be added (both must agree to more laps). Well this is what we have so far and I think this is going to be tons of fun with friends. Any suggestions on how we can set this up or have more fun please send me a PM.

I think it would be even awesomer if it had half as many features as 3 did. One time only split screen replays :grumpy: It still is fun tho, me and a friend have been having demolitious fun lately...

I have a "properly tuned" suspension and I do think I am pretty good at drifting some cars, thank you... :sly: I was just tyin' to help the guy out when drifting in 2 player mode... I love it how people just make assumptions about people, without knowing the truth

What I was implying is using the assists just doesn't make you any better. Stock arcade cars on N1's or N2's is definately driftable. If anything it will teach you to drift a modified car even better. It gives you a better understanding of how/where you need to shift the weight, and how braking effects weight transfer. Which is what people complain about most, why they can't brake drift or why their cars understeer so bad at turn-in. "You" is not specifically directed towards you. It's a generalization to people who RELY on it, and is in no way a way of saying they can't drift. It was an observation of what people who use ASM Understeer typically have problems with.

It's cool, I didn't think anything of it. If I wanted to rip into someone, there'd be alot of swear filter implemented in my post.
