Drifting in Arcade Version of Ferrari F355 Challenge?

a bit off Topic, but...has Anyone tried drifting in the arcade Version?

yeah i have, its a bit hard though. although i pulled it off a couple times. i dont plan to anymore since the machine @ redondo beach has the clutch stuck and the shifter is stuck in 2nd because little kids stick gum in between the gears.

I've always wanted to try, but the clostest place that I know of that has it is about an hour away.

I've tried. The one at our arcade, Blasterz, is kinda broken. When you hit the clutch, the sit goes backwards. BUT. I did pull a nice drift off..like..5 times. Then I ran outta money.

i treid a couple of times.....i was racing some little bratty kid and he got mad so he hit me in the middle of one of my best drifts....

Dont you just hate those kids? My little cousin was racing some punk, my cousin is 12, the kid was 15 or 16, around my age. He cousin was kicking his arse, so the kid shoved him off the seat. Needless to say, I hopped in the seat, and killed the kid by 13 something seconds.

IMHO it is way too hard to drift. for me i just left on ABS on so i didnt get the hard understeer. it kind ahelped, but that game isnt for drifting.

On the Dreamcast version (God so long ago) I made a setup for drifting... non-stop consecutive drifts, but it was really uncontrollable.

I totally drifted in F355 in the arcade. I really only drifted a few turns, but when you drift you don't hit the checkpoints and it ends up costing you more money. So... what you gotta do, is have a friend linked with a race. The friend just keeps racing normal to get the checkpoints and you can drift with all the time you want. I ended up doing that and worked on my racing line and my friend was drifting the whole time and then we switched roles.

If anyone lives in the Detroit area, we should meet up at gameworks on a Sunday and get the 2 hours of power and just do that the whole time. It would be awesome.
