play live for speed, its so much better for learning techniques that you can use in real life, like steering techniques and what lines to take (mainly when following someone)
the biggest difference between going from a sim and real life are
1) cars in sims don't have issues unlike my pos 180sx haha
2) fear factor, confidence, ect, 1st few drift days i held back a fair bit tho i was still doing 1000x better then other people who just started, once i got my handbrake fixed and did some drifting with my brother my confidence went up heaps, could do tandems with him and not have to worry about him doing something stupid
3) getting used to the g forces, 1st drift day i did i found it kinda hard to have my feet in the right spot on some of the corners, had to learn how to hold my self in my set better
i have been drifting in live for speed for about 8 years, started with a momo then got a G25 when that came out. i started drifting irl at the end of last year and have done 7 practice days and a comp since then (i was in the highest class with some of Australia's best drifters)
most people are shocked when i tell them i learned how to drift on my computer
biggest thing holding me back are issues with my car, its a CA18DET 180sx with coilovers, a locked diff and thats pretty much it, on very good day it will make 200hp, atm im pulling out the engine to try to make it stop pissing out oil, replacing some bent suspension arms and putting a new computer in it so the power level isn't so all over the place (stock computers are epic fail and self tune which leads to issues when you try to run more boost)
