hey fellow gamers
i was wondering if anyone has done any drifting in San Andreas?
if so post away and tell the world where u drift and wat car you use 2 drift in San Andreas
In my travels through the state i've found a hole bunch of cool Drifting touge sections eg. the touge just south of the city in San Ferro it's a bit crowded with car
but still cool.
thnx

Yeah, it's only powersliding between corners. The closest thing to drifting is a wide turn done on gravel with a loose gripping car, like the Super GT. You can find a permanent one in the SF airport, near the heli spawns.

Man, everything is drifting these days. If you want to drift buy GT3 or Kaido Battle 2, not GTA:SA. Don't get me wrong, I like drifting and if I could get a suitable car in real life I would try it happily but GTA:SA isn't the game for drifting. If you feel you must drift try the Elegy or take any car and shoot out the rear tyres.

I agree, why drift when you can kill thousands of people with the push of a button?

Also Elisha Cuthbert is Hot!!! She's why I'm proud to be Canadian!!!

I'm just saying that there are games for drifting and there are games for becoming all-conquering criminal gang lords with lots of guns who kill lots of people.

And yes, Elisha Cuthbert is very hot :D

Integra Type R
R32 headlights and reversed R34 tail lights.
I say it's an R32 GTS-T, it's got the solid nose and is RWD only. Those taillights are closest to the R34 kind though. Did you mean 'revised'?
OT: They sure messed with a lot of drivetrains in that game. Off the top of my head:
FF MkIV Supra
4WD Ferarri F40
FR NSX
FR Talon/Eclipse
Chevrolet Caprices change between front and rear wheel drive depending on the version (taxi, police, regular)
and I'm not sure what the Hermies is supposed to be, but I'm sure it shouldn't be FWD looking as old as it does.

I know I said that GTA:SA isn't a drifting game but one vehicle that slides really nicely and controllably is the Burrito, the gang van from VC. Also try drifting a Truck and trailer combo and the Buffalo slides well as well.

The NSX is MR :dunce:.

Emohawk was pointing out which drivetrains were incorrect. To bring up a point, do any cars in SA have MR drivetrains? If not then R* putting the NSX as a FR would have been the closest they could have got to a proper MR.

I thought the engine was in the back in the Infernus. Also the Bullet has it's engine in the back. And the Turismo.

Yeah im pretty sure theres a few MRs. I think the cheetah may be one but Im not completely sure.

Try smashing the hood off an Infurnus, there's an engine in there. Thats the only one I know of where they put the engine in the wrong place though.
I don't know if they're just ignorant or think it doesn't matter or what. It probably says something about the designers that the only performance mod you can do to cars is nitrous. (I'm assuming the spoilers don't do anything).

Yea when I heard that you could make modifications to your cars I didn't think it was going to be pimp my ride + NOS. The mod system is only slightly better than nothing, It would be good if you could buy a generic "Engine Upgrade" to boost acceleration and top speed and similar "Suspension Upgrade" for better handling and brakes.

It's not a tuning game, it really doesn't matter that much, the inclusion of tuning is great (transfender need a few more mods mind) but it's not what the game is about. If you want a game like that buy something that does allow you to do it.

I think it would be a good improvement for the next GTA. They also need a better aiming system.

Why has this thread gotten so popular? You can't drift in SA, or VC (a little with the sanchez if you get good), and you can barely lose control in LC, so why bother debating? We all know the cars have loose connections and styling cues to others in real life (ala comet:porsche) but all in all they're miles away from anything. Especially if you look at the 3 games cars, the stinger for example looks nothing like the stinger in VC or LC. Same with the banshee, it went from like Dodge Viper looking in LC to C4 corvette looking in VC...thus proving that the game designers just want to piss people off. :D  :dopey:

..or perhpas everyone prefered the viper look to the c4 look?

The bullet is definetley mid engined, it even has engine-flaming from the middle.

They had the viper look first, then the Corvette C4 look...and same with the stinger in Gta3/LC, it went from some funky roadster to...a slightly less funky roadster...it went from like, a TVR to an old Ferrari 365 GTB or something...with Mustang tailights. So funky.

Yer, I know...

What I meant was when they changed it from GTA:3 Banshee to GTA:VC Banshee a number of people wished they'd never made the change. And perhaps R* did to.

TVR? What you on?

Continue this is one of the Car Discussion threads, and if there isn't one for Car Discussion, feel free to make one. Keep this on topic (although the topic isn't really looked upon greatly outside of the Drifting forums, so it's a bit touchy here).

Violently back on topic!

I think my definition of 'drifting' is a bit looser then yours. Handbraking around Liberty in a Blista, power oversteer in anything RWD (VC Infurnus' are great for that), or just driving anything with the tires shot out. I'd call all of that drifting.
