ive been experimenting with lots of different cars trying to learn how to drift. Currently im trying witha 328ci, my question is when you see the car getting sideways how do you control it from going past 90 degrees. My drifts are either very ****ty or it looks like its gonna be good and im sliding 90 for a while then the car spins out. Any help would be appreciated thank you

you use controller or steering wheel?

90º with an FR? not recommendable if you ask me... but if u wanna pull it off, throw sticky front tires on and stiffen the front...

stay off the gas, the more your angle aproaches 90 degrees the lower your gear should be. if you are at 80-90 degrees use 1st gear, the engine breaking should bring you back.

umm^ It depends......... You don't want your revs nailing your rev limiter.. Plus It will just making keeping at 90 degree harder, just stay in the right gear for the drift and watch your gas modulation.

im having trouble withthe sim tires, when i spin out or stop it takes forever to get the car going again because the wheels spin uncontrollably. Are there any settings i can change to fix this?

sim tires ain't gonna help pull off a high angle drift... it's COMMON SENSE

It depends on your skill... They may not help but I can do it with sims so doesn;' really matter as long as you can get sideways and get a pretty high angle. :D

i wasnt saying during a drift i was saying starting from a stopped position the car just does a 30 second burn out

depends..... You have to be careful with the gas. Thats the exact reason its for professionals...

SR20DET said it.

Just try to tap the throttle during the drift to keep the rear end oversteering and countersteer a little bit so that you can keep the car stable.

I hope that helps :)

Try to learn to make your angle later in the turn, not much and not for a long time, but an angle. Then start pulling your angles earlier, earlier, and earlier and eventually you'll get it right I think. Forcing it sideways with just the foot brake and then power is a pretty effective learning curve.

i got the basics down i can speed drift and i can do some longer drifts im just having trouble with really long sweeping drifts. I also dont have a wheel so hitting the gas on a controller is harder to modulate

It is a little harder, but if you use both analog sticks (how it should be), you can modulate the gas easily with the right analog stick...........

This is how i drift its called power over steer kouki version i made it up but works for me
1. approach a corner on the inside of the turn if your tunrnin right stick to the right side of the track ect
2.counter steer < >and at the same time hit your throtle really hard so it kinda burns out in the turn then hold it for 1 second wilde in the turn then just keep taping the gas
3.when taping the gas try using the hand brake for more over steer but turning the steering the opposite direction
4.tap gas again and leave the analog stick alone to leave a drift in a fashionable way
5. when you are in a 90 degree drift dont always keep your steering wheel turn let go of it then turn it as if you are tryng to gain control of the vehicle
6.use regular brake if needed

Hope this helps you I always drift like that its fast and in a tournament can really give you allot of point for crazy drifting.:D

Holy God!?!?!? Power over steer kouki version?!?!?!?

You are making it very complicated for yourself. You do not need to do all that, to make a car drift. In fact, some of it is quite counterproductive.........

Studying real life drift techniques is very important IMHO. That's how I learned............

btw silvia drifter your videos are pretty sick

Thankyou......
