How much does drifting affect tire wear? Does it affect it so much that you really shouldn't do it in Pro Races, or is it so minimal that the advantage in speed will heavily outweigh the disadvantage of faster tire wear?

Drifting absolutely kills tires, and as you get to the somewhat harder races you'll see there really isn't any room for drifting.

no, slip streaming is another name for drafting, drifting is sliding by abruptly changing direction and being slid by the momentum, power sliding is a throttle controlled drift. i think

I was wondering for a minute there myself.... ha ha

Drifting does kill your tires. Especially if tire wear is on :p

Drive without sliding everywhere and you will last a lot longer!!

'Nother question: Will power-sliding kill your tires even faster than drifting, since your [most likely] causing some excess tire spin?

Thanx!

Power sliding is the rally term for drifting, and the tire damage depends on the slide: -the length of the slide -the speed -the weight of the car -tire type -underground -angle, and some other factors I'm forgetting ;) .
