Guys please we dont need to argue in hear please take it somewhere else.

Well I drove the F430 ladies and gents and man I had a blast I was a little disappointed the event ended up being a sorta autocross ( track ended up closing for some other event) with cones and it rained alot ( my F430 was a convertible) THat being said it was the best 150 bucks I wasted on anything in a long time. Just when I started getting used to the car it was over I honestly wanted to spend more money and either go another round with the F430 or just try the lambo to say I did but money is tight( mortgage and such) The handling is on a level I have personally never experienced once you learn to trust the car and its abilities thats when you truly appreciate the engineering and the passion of these cars.My freind Drove the lambo and imidiately after wished he drove the F430 I did like the sound of the V10 lambo but once I heard the wail of the V8 from the F430 at full scream wow I knew that was the one hmmm maybe i can afford one in 15 20 years lololol( nah im too much of a cheapskate) I would like to know of another more reasonably priced mid engine car that I could buy ( only car that comes to mind is NSX??)

Lol, I seen this and then realised you already driven the car.. I was going to say the Ferrari.. All that comes to my mind is the NSX too, but it's 03:54 here, so as you can imagine.. My brain isn't in the best of places right now, wow, I'm tired.. I'll come back in the morning and try and give you some ideas. Bye for now. :)

Thanks,

There's a NSX for sale at a dealership near my house, black, manual (cuz believe it or not they make an auto NSX) for 30k... One problem, it's the Acura not the Honda haha

it being a acura is not a problem at all thats all we got officially in the states
I dont have 30 grand though lol if I did I would have gotten a used lotus elise

Yeah I probably would get an Elise too

Glad you had a good time! 👍
It's an amazing car..

Yeah I am craving mor ebut due to limited budget It wont happen again any time soon well I always have gt5 and need for speed( dont know if that new test drive ferarri is worth it)

What's the Porsche Boxters list price?
I'd say you could get hold of one for less than 25k.. Perhaps the first "S" I'd guess.

Im not sure Denilson I guess my only reservation would be maintinence with the porsche ( and yeah I would want the S version) I wonder how that equates to older STIs and a couple of other older cars I am interested in As for the edmunds list good luck finding a nsx for under 25 sheesh

Maintenance for Porsches are'nt that bad actually.. Ok, it's not like serving a Subaru, but it's actually not too expensive, at least not here in Sweden.

I don't know if it's faster or slower, but I'd say it's defenetly a nicer drive compared to the STi performance/handling vise. I have'nt tryed the 986, but the 987 is defenetly a nice drive. Really agile and nice car to drive.
And the quality in the 987 at least is to die for. That's one of Porsches really strong areas.
Ok, for 25k, I guess you have to look at the previous 986 model.. But since I'm not sertain about the list prices in the US, it's not totally unlikely you could get hold of an early 987..

Yeah, the NSX's are really expensive. Imo, a bit too expensive. It's an iconic car, ofc, but I think it's overpriced.

Either way, good luck! 👍

I found some answers to my wanting a midengine car for cheap at edmunds.com today
http://www.insideline.com/features/10-best-midengine-sports-cars-for-25000-or-less.html
I see that the Top 10 best list reasons doesn't really appear to factor in actual maintenance costs which is the catch with a couple of those cars.

The Ferrari is impossible to find. The only GTSi I found was still $30,000 w/ 63,000 miles.

I'm surprised they recommended the '97-'03 Boxster. It's possible to find a '05-'07 model w/ less than 40,000 miles for just $2-4,000 more. Kind of curious to see what kind of mileage a $25,000 Cayman has as well; most start at $30,000+.

A good Elise will start you at $30,000. That will get you a car with good miles & lots of life left in it. Anything under has been used.

'91-'93 NSXs under $25,000? Stay away. Looking at the current market, I wouldn't pay under $30,000 for any NSX.

Mclearen its just a list with there opinions. why so serious ? Most top ten list for cars never factor in maintinence so thats nothing new

Because it's a misguiding article. Yes, those are all decent mid-engine sports cars, but not for under $25,000. Most "Best Car for 'x' Amount" also do factor in maintenance costs because those type of articles are written towards people on a budget. There's a perfect article months back about buying an affordable Ferrari & it revealed all the extra money required when the time for maintenance came. This article only briefly touches on it for a couple cars, but it doesn't really factor the costs into buying the car for under $25,000. They just add it may be expensive to fix for that budget. :dunce:

And this is far from serious. Or am I not allowed to critique the article & actually give you some real world advice? Regardless, I've seen topics like this before; 95% never get anywhere close to actually buying the car the member wants.

shesh you may say your not serious but your tone says otherwise. I dont take articles from edmunds as the gospel they are presenting what they feel it is up to the reader to do the hard research wich I think any car guy with common sense would do. example I borught up the maintinence cost on some porsches ect... You can say what you feel its just a thread its not a big deal and where do you come up with 95 % of people never buy the car to be honest its not just midengine cars I am looking at but I really neve rgave that platform a chance which is why I continued the topic.

You can perceive that all you want, then. I don't take anything on this site serious anymore outside of posts made by members or sections I tend to follow now-a-days.

Then why post it as the answer to you wanting a cheap mid-engine car if you were going to do actual hard research anyway?

If I can say what I feel, why then critique me of being too serious? All I did was give you first hand advice since I've been & am still in the same process of a buying a sports car myself.

I came up with that figure because I have seen the topic of members wanting specific sports cars within' a small budget more than enough times over the past 8 years. And nearly all of them never actually follow through with a purchase.

Why consider buying at all if it's a waste to you? I mean I don't mean to be rude; but it sounds like you're not going to be buying in a long time so there's not much point talking about it.

I mean I can choose to swap my car for many cars; early Porsche 996, BMW M5 and M3, Subarus, Evos etc - all those cars are around about the same price of my car or a few grand less.
I can dream about them all day long, doesn't mean I'll be serious enough to actually go through with it - like McLaren was saying.
