Driver names vs. car names

One thing that's always really bugged me in GT5 is how when you're racing and you want to know which car is ahead/behind you but you've just got a list of meaningless driver names.

In B-spec you can change between driver names and car names but there isn't that option in A-spec... unless I'm missing something?

I don't really know why they introduced driver names in GT5, it just seems pointless.
 
I was thinking about this the other night, too. The names are irrelevant in A-spec and it sure would be nice to be able to switch to the cars list. Maybe in a future patch. 👍
 
I read the OP and it took me a while to figure out what the problem was. Driver names are there so those of us who play online can see them.
 
I agree, the should definitely include this in a future update.

Maybe display the name and then change to the car every 10 seconds? I think that would be a good idea.

And there's nothing wrong with that. But you did figure out what the problem was, or?
 
I have to say that I like to see what I am racing. If there is a fast car that starts in the back, It's good to see when it gets to second or third so I can stop screwing around (drifting) and actually race.

Maybe display the drivers name/car like when you enter the race, in the top if the screen.
 
Yeah, when you do a 24h endurance race and you want to know what car is 1st, 2nd, etc, you have no idea. I was in the lead and actually pulled over and let cars pass so I could see WHO was in 2nd place behind me.
