Yessss sir, I do that a lot, almost every time I turn on my PS2! That's great to beat your last best performance...

Simply love CTR Yellowbird, AC Cobra or Mustang Shelby on Nurburgring, fully modded Red FIAT 500 on Citta di Aria, Nissan R92CP on Circuit De La Sarthe, stock Impreza STi on Chamonix and drift set RX7 around Valley East Section. The game just feels so live and racing progress becoming less entertaining after 50%, but free rides still are.

yeah i love doing this !! i have actuay made somthing out of it, i start with the drivetrain (4wd, mr etc etc) and take every car for 5 laps round the ring ( i found it the most challenging track) with all the driving aids set to a big 0!!! this lets me find out which car is the fastest under my drivin abilitys and helps me with my skill, and you can see which car was the fastest in the top 10, i really enjoy this,m and with me having like 241 cars it keep you occupied aswell!!! shuld try it i think it is great fun !!!

karl :sly: :sly: :sly:

and im at 59.9% just incase anyone wanted to no lol

this thread is great! cant wait to get it started.

I have to agree to 1twojay, I'm almost at 50% and, as money is not a problem now, I'm playing "Buy That Used Car" to increase the number of machines available at the Arcade Mode. And, driving for fun, obviously, just for the pleasure.
Last weekend, I took my GT4 to my cousin's house to have some 2-player battles. And, boy, that was "da bomb". The Impreza vs. Lancer challenges at Tsukuba were amazing. But then, I found my new best car: the Suzuki GSRX/4 concept. That thing is extremely light and, in spite of its 1300cc Hayabusa sportbike engine, this little thing is faster in Tsukuba than any premium japanese sports car in stock form, even the almighty GT-R M-Spec Nür. Try it and you'll know what I mean.

After three edditions of driving around in circles my plan of attack with this one was radicaly different from the previous games. I actualy enjoyed working my way through those, but with GT4 I crawled around earning pocket change, and built my first full mod car in this game. then i entered the only race in the game that can be one with a street car, and gives you a race car as a prize. Then i did it again so i'd have a spare, and now i'm just blasting through the game with my minolta. The plan: shoot to 100 percent, keeping all my prize cars and not driving any of them. Then, create a second game save, sell off all the cars on one of them, and use the empty garage and all the cash to build and play with the cars i like. Completion of GT4 has be a real bore so far, but it's the gearhead wonderland at the end of the tunnel that keeps me going.

Right now the GSX-R/4 car is my *toy* also, I have it tuned up a lil now...275hp and a few tweaks here and there...(full custom gear box, clutch, flywheel racing exhaust) i love the sound... kinda reminds me of my 2002 GSX-R 1000.....i miss it....

I was getting kinda bored as well, so I decided to get an SLR McLaren, upgraded it a little bit(Except for the Racing Exhaust, I like the stock sound). Got some nice OZ Racing wheels, and took it out to Circuit de La Sarthe II, I had some fun in it, I also got a Racing Suspension and lowered it as low as possible, Just a few seconds or so before getting on the Straightaway I hit a little bump and the car jumped a few feet in the air, it was pretty fun, also with only 5 Gears, I didn't tune the Transmission any and it hit 233MPH, pretty fun car..And very neat looking.

this is what I hae done since the first gt game i got... 3.
I have never had the goal of reaching 100%, I just unlock tracks and race mostly stock cars. its great fun :)
it was in gt3 becoming that i wasnt happy with 1st place and absolutely was unhappy with easy wins. gt4 will go the same way when i have allthe cars i want :)

As I noted sometime back, you can always run a race granted your machine isn't a Special Car. I'm buying cars in the game, tuning them up, hopefully making them compete in family cup races. It makes almost no sense if you just have a car sit there and not mod it up to be what you want. Most recent "project car" I bought was a 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10. Insanely powerful and with a few modifications, you can build your own GTS-R, if you don't like the GTS-R Concept Car.

So go and have some fun. The sky is the limit.

i always took free drive around my car Spyder ... i have this car and it's in game too, sweet, i bought it for enjoy ride and don't have to worry about getting hit lol! 👍

I can imagine how fun it would if your RL car was in the game.

my real car is in the game lol i have a MG TF 160 and ive bought it in the same colour on the game, the real beauty of it is, that u can look at different wheels and see what might look good on your car in real life aswell as the wings/spoilers, and you can tune it and see what you like and dnt like, not the best car in the game i no but it is a hell of alot ov fun !!

Want some fun? Max out the Midget II and race in the twisty drivingpark! Like driving a gocart with a really high centre of gravity. Great fun!

I am also a big fan of "driving for fun" with GT4. In fact, AI is so bad that I usually pass my time on time trials rather than races. This lets me concentrate on the best racing lines and enjoying perfect looking replays (race replays have frequent slowdowns due to having to render several cars at once).

Lately, I am having most fun driving a RUF Yellowbird on N2 tires on the Nurburgring. In fact, this is the only car I am willing to drive now!! It is totally awesome!! It just needs a little steering flick to get it into "oversteer mode".

I am running it completely stock (there is more than enough power for the N2 tires...), and have tuned a little the suspension : minimum ride level on both axles, -1.0 front camber and -1.5 rear camber, and that´s it. These changes make the car extremely twitchy. Under these conditions, it is a very demanding ride, but also the most rewarding one. You can slide it for as long as you wish under full control. It takes some time to master it, but it is well worth it. Sometimes, you have to apply a half turn of opposite lock at 300 km/h to stay on course!!! It brings me memories of the famous "Fazination" video, where RUF´s test diver drives the Yellowbird wildly sideways for two complete turns around the ´Ring. And also reminds me of what Walter Rohrl (Porsche test driver) said to CAR magazine (july 2004) : After having to apply a quarter turn of opposite lock at 303 km/h in a 911 GT2 at Tiergarten, Porsche decided to install 305 mm rear tires to this car instead of the 295 ones... The fact that you can experience these kind of emotions on a virtual drive in GT4 speaks a lot about the Polyphony team.

Also, when you drive a high powered car on N2 tires at the Nurburgring, knowing the bumps is almost as important as knowing the turns. This was also said by Walter Rohrl, and you can experience it in GT4.

It is almost impossible to believe that this kind of realism can be achieved on a PS2 console game. Simply amazing!!

at the moment i am doing all the era races on all of the different tracks in arcade mode

i had a system on gt3, based around the japanese cup. i would choose a car from those the cpu drove in the cup. they were normally be an rx-7, nsx, lancer, impreza, skyline, gto, supra, legacy. i would then buy minimal parts to get the car upto basic 'street' spec. then i'd race that car against the cpu, to see what become of it. it was a great challenge, especially trying to win with a gto when the field included an nsx or a rx-7, or in tough races - both!

ive always been a times trial racer myself. dont get me wrong, i relish a good ole ding dong with the AI cars, but i prefer to challenge myself and just roll around a track picking up new ideas as i go along. with gt4, its no exception. i just do the races so that i can get the car i want so i can give it a damn good thrashing! at the moment, im mad about the carbon r. been throwing it around at a number of tracks. before that i was trying to win the pan european championship with an sl amg 65 with only sports tyres - a tough championship if the grid is stacked against you. never been a top speed junkie, though, i do like the fast cars, anything and everything will do me.
