For anyone with the DFGT, do you know how to mod a clutch for it?

You can't. The DFGT doesn't have a clutch axis.

If you're on the PC simply acquire a standalone set of pedals or make your own clutch pedal. It can be an axis (maybe an old flight stick with some ingenuity) or a button from an old gamepad.

If you use this http://www.leobodnar.com/products/DFPG25conn/ and some DIY skills you could get a set of DFP pedals, cut them down the middle, take out the stronger brake spring and attach that single pedal to the existing DFGT pedal box and then have a clutch for PC sims, but that won't work with any console sim. You could also rewire the DFGT plus clutch pedals to copy a G27's pinout, just to reduce the number of wires and to make it a cleaner package.

Alternatively you could try and get a set of actual G27 wheels and that box. He also sells one to use a G27 shifter without the G27... Problem is it would probably only be a little bit more expensive to just buy a G27 than it would be to get all the parts separately.

Yeah, not for console gaming. I'll be playing on the PC, so I'll be able to assign the clutch to a button or something.

I found this video, and the guy is using a hole puncher as the pedal, and it's pressing on the assigned clutch button. But I dont understand how he lets go of the button slowly, like a real clutch would.

Sounds like he's connected a PS3 pad to his PC, assigned an analogue stick to the clutch and has a mechanical linkage between the hole punch and analogue stick. I never would've thought about using a hole punch...

I had seen that video before, very ingenious. You can do something like that using a button from an old gamepad or even something like a keyboard. When you assign the clutch to a button I don't think you need, or even could slowly release it, so there's no need to do it. I don't know for sure.

Yeah, there's a million ways you could do this, really. Which sim(s) are you talking about? If it's GTR2, GT Legends or Race 07, try mapping a keyboard key to the clutch and see what the in-menu input bar graphs do, I'm sure that when you press the clutch key it'll engage fully instantly but slowly drop off when you release the key. I don't know how to set it to do that in sims that don't do it automatically, but that's good enough to prevent stalling, if less realistic.

And yeah, he said he assigned one of the analog sticks to be the clutch, letting it be pressure sensitive.
