Hi, i am having a problem with playing gt 4 using my driving force gt.
When i press on the throttle and brakes, the meters on the gas and brake(using steering display) doesn't go up smoothly, when i depress the pedals slightly, for example 50%,the gas and brakes shown on the meter is jumpy, its randomly jumping around maybe 5% to 10% more than i pressed.
During the start of the race, the full throttle text and get ready text is jumping back and forth randomly, unless i step really hard on the gas pedal.

I have no issues using the wheel on pc sims like rfactor where i can achieve smooth constant braking and accelerating.

Thank you for reading

Sounds like dirty pots or a bad connection somewhere.

Inspect all the wiring and whatever connections you can get to.

Sorry if that's not much help, but tracking this kind of thing down can be difficult sometimes

I did open up the pedal and cleaned the insides. It stopped the issue of sticking brakes, however when playing gt 4,the problem is still persistent.I had problems with pc sims and i checked on the logitech profiler, there was nothing wrong with it on the pc..

So when you say you cleaned the insides, did you clean the electrical contacts inside the potentiometers ("pots")? If so, what did you use? The best thing would be Deoxit or some kind of fader lube/cleaner.

I did,i tried retightening the wires connecting to the potentiometer and i readjusted the springs a little which ended up messing with my pedal calibrations, however i was able to reverse it soon afterwards. I have googled around and found that the term to use for my situation would be "spiking".So i am facing spiking issues with the pedals.

I cleaned the insides with cotton buds only.
turns out i am not the only one facing pedal problems, the build quality of the wheel itself is excellent, but the pedals are just horrible.Disappointed as this was my first logitech wheel, and first force feedback wheel.

I am leaning towards buy a thrustmaster wheel over the G27 now,the only issue is the price.

Buy the G27. I've never had any problems with mine. It has a high price tag, but it's a long-lasting wheel you won't cycle through very quickly.
